Prediction:
You will be back. Shortly.
You need the attention. Badly.

Thank you for your technical articles.
With all due respect - the racist angle should really be kept to yourself.
Best wishes regarding your future endeavours.

A few a-holes, a few keyboard strokes, a thin skin, feelings get hurt. It's no big deal. There's "ignore" and a select few go away or you leave and leave behind a great bunch of guys (the majority) and loads of great info and a few laughs (read Milt's parting shot).

Sorry to see you leave, but don't place all the blame on the others. It takes two to tango, just sayin'....

It's fair to say PARF is a place where a-hole responses are condoned. I did not heed the "thin skinned" warning and melted down from reading a separate thread without even engaging in the discussion. I do not belong there so I am out. Simple as that.

I like reading your posts and threads, Mike. No need to cut off your nose to spite your face. Take a break and come on back.

RWebb 03-03-2012 08:50 AM

I did not post this on your thread, Mike, but I have to point out that despite what seemed to be some racism, you have also previously started quite a few controversial trolling threads.

That may well have contributed to some of the responses you got, since no one knew if your thread was true or not.

At any rate, I hope you get over this tragedy soon.

The intelligent readers will miss your post. The rest, who cares?

Take a break and come back with more great posts. We will miss ya.

It's easy to get stepped on in here--but that's exactly the way it is in the world.

Like several others have said--enjoy the board for the people you have befriended and those yet to be discovered....and forget the rest--they're just not worth your worry.

Old cliche always rings true...

opinions are like a**holes

everybody has one and they all stink!

Just when I thought this place was improving (Normy leaving, I mean). Now this... None of us is perfect and sometimes we post things that people take the wrong way... it happens.
I've been called out for it and I've learned my lesson.

Hugh R 03-03-2012 09:49 AM

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This place is unique. Don't type things here you wouldn't say to the person' face. There are lots of nice people here.

RANDY P 03-03-2012 10:27 AM

I don't blame you. Azzholes. Sorry about that.

I have no clue what this is about and dont know the story. But as soon as i saw the word 'PARF', I knew it wasnt good. I have never been on that board but it seems nothing good ever comes out of there. Some people really need to get a life..

GWN7 03-03-2012 10:49 AM

If you leave "they" win. I will miss your posts.

rusnak 03-03-2012 12:50 PM

I got burned out on PP a few years ago and left after the '08 election, before PARF was created. I let Wayne know how I felt about the people and the environment here. Wayne responded by saying that they were in the process of encouraging some members to leave and that they'd clean up the place.

I think they largely succeeded, but PP stopped feeling like a friendly place to me, and I don't post or read nearly as much anymore. I think PARF needs to be priviledged access, which can be granted and taken away depending on how many warnings one gets from moderators.

Changing mods, changing the look of the place may help too, along with issuing a few perma-bans to our more hostile and less civil posters.

+1 on what Glen said.

sammyg2 03-03-2012 01:31 PM

Does this mean that dippy is gone too?

You'll be back but here's a suggestion and don't take this the wrong way, it is not intended to be mean:
You have way too much drama in your life.
Most of the threads you started here had to do with some dramatic occurrence in your life or in the life of someone around you.
More dramatic stuff than has ever happened to me or those close to me or to any of the folks I know.
Either you're a magnet for it or you simply live for the stuff and create it. Either way it ain't good for you.

targa911S 03-03-2012 01:58 PM

Yeah if you leave they win...don't do it.. We want you to stay, Don't make us beg like an ugly girl friend.

You could say that beer lubricates relationships that just were not meant to be!!!

See, we need a lubrication specialist.SmileWavy

There is a motorcycle board, (can't remember which one), where if you start a "sayonara/bye-bye/I'm out of here" type thread, you are banned for life from your IP address and all of your posts are deleted. We need that here. Really cuts down on the drama-queen/attention whore behavior seen here.

john70t 03-03-2012 03:24 PM

I posted on the other thread before seeing this one.

Mike, it was and is a difficult subject and something that shouldn't be taken lightly.
Parf was the wrong place to open your heart- it's nothing but a shooting gallery these days. Just remember: Everything "said" is just words on a computer screen, and no reason to kick the dog.

I hope you return.
However it turns out, do whatever gives you satisfaction and enjoyment in life.
Life is short.

svandamme 03-03-2012 03:28 PM

the thread did not start out in Parf.
