So many better people have left this place without a Checkers Speech. Don't go away mad, as the saying goes. Just go away.

dtw 03-04-2012 08:47 AM

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, you attention-whoring gasbag.

At least a handful of people here see through your unending procession of fictions and tall tales.

edgemar 03-04-2012 09:01 AM

I would be sad to see you go. Please reconsider...you are an awesome contributor to this forum!

dipso 03-04-2012 09:35 AM

But we still don't know about the hat. What was the significance of the hat!
You didn't mention what kind of belt he was wearing, what color shirt, what type of shoes, anything.
But for some reason it was important to mention he was wearing a cowboy hat. Why?

sammyg2 03-04-2012 09:51 AM

So easy to tell who the folks are with the racial chips-on-their-shoulders.
They're so predictable and quick with the card.

dipso 03-04-2012 10:24 AM

Lubey seems to have a problem with black people. It is probably best that he left. He should find a more local forum to vent his racial frustrations. Sounds like a little forum in his hometown, would be more appropriate.
Pelican is world wide and it is the 21st century., that sort of thought is not really tolerated anymore.
At least not around here.

Life is like algebra. But it is hard to see the solution when you are part of the equation.

Some one comes here with a problem that is so close and personal that we should be taking the time to make sure that he is OK, but instead, we decide to straighten him out. Then we want him to be the bigger person, while in real life all emotions are still hyper elevated.

I didn't like the way that went down. I'd like to think that if I was going through something like that, people here would cut me a little slack.

If you blamed it on the 'poor black people' when actually the white girl got him killed. You would probably be treated the same.

Yesterday, I ran a Google News search on this matter. The only news articles I found stated that the police were still investigating, implied that alcohol might be an issue and did not make any mention of a fight, a threat or any racial angle.

Tho hardly a final conclusion, I have to wonder what really happened. Perhaps Mike has unimpeachable sources of information and the police are about to file charges - who knows...

All of you can certainly forgive him for being upset over the death, at the same time you recall his often starting threads just to get a rise out of people (something that many, if not most of us, also do).

genrex 03-04-2012 11:26 AM

I did a google search on it also, one week after it happened. There was nothing about it on the internet, which was interesting because if it *did* go down the way Lubey said it did, it would have had quite a few google hits. But there was nothing, nothing at all. Add that to the incredibly racist wording of his post, and that says it all. Lubey is an attention-seeking racist troll.

So as they say, don't go away mad -- just go away.

When the first thread came out everyone WAS supportive and offering condolences. It's only after the second thread was started with Mike calling it a hate crime that some people started to back away from the drama and question the story itself.

Clearly Mike sounds mad at people he thought were friends for not having his back - Maybe he doesn't realise that some of them were probably pissed at being disrepected, lied to, fed a line of racially motivated BS, and then expected to go along with it.

Like others have mentioned, it's the 21st century and that racist crap shouldn't be tolerated here - or anywhere else for that matter.

scottbombedout 03-04-2012 12:43 PM

Mike shot himself in the foot with the thread. I can honestly say I have never come across someone with such a drama filled life.

RWebb 03-04-2012 02:38 PM

you have not read the douchebag parking thread or some others from the same author, have you?

Hah! Did you leave anything out?

Jeff Alton 03-04-2012 08:01 PM

I always find it interesting how online relationships go....

Lots of people piling on to Lubey here.... My gut feeling is that if all of you Lubey haters sat with him around a table and shared a beer, some food and some stories about your common interests (cars maybe??) you would all be life long friends and accept each others differences without judgement..... Be them political, racial (assumed by some) or chevy vs doge vs ford.

Just sayin.

Pretty sad when people get this worked up and say some of the things they have said (well typed I guess beacause that is easy) when you have never looked into the man's eyes and shook his hand.

What we seem to know for sure is that he is suffering the loss of someone close. That part seems to not be in dispute. If the rest of the story is true or not means nothing to me. If true, it is very sad. If not, well then I don't judge a man for how he rationalizes his grief. But that is just me....

I hope my son doesn't become a player (victim??) of the digital age and continues to accept others (politics, views, skin color, religion etc) and not judge them on the basis of a few typed statements. In fact I hope he continues to never judge. Some folks here have some pretty high standards of others, some of which I often wonder if they themselves could live up to.... Just because someone does not see the world the way you see it does not validate some of the stuff that goes on this forum.

Anyways, Lubey, sorry for your loss. The end result was tragic regardless of how it came to be. Thoughts be with you and your friends.

Just my .02 worth. :)

Cheers

It's just nice to know that there are so many people on this board who's chit don't stink.

widgeon13 03-05-2012 03:19 AM

Sorry to see anyone go. This place isn't what it used to be. It's lost a lot of its fun factor and picked up much more uncivil behavior, very unfortunate.

I blame it on the creation of PARF. the idiots used to be diluted into the entire forum, now they are concentrated in one location and if one goes there you get infected with the disease. It always escalates into uncivil behavior.

I don't come here for that crap.SmileWavy
