I Have A 4G iPhone And Am In Kansas?
My iPhone updated itself to iOS 5.1. Now the icon top-left states that I have a "4G" connection. Woo-hoo - err, maybe not. It just means I'm now on a HSPA+ network.
But I decided to run SpeedTest to see if my download speed using cellular (no wifi) had changed. Wow, sluggish much? And more latency than - wait - SpeedTest is using a server in Wichita, Kansas? And it thinks I am 28 miles from said server? I am fairly sure that I am in my house which has not been carried away from Portland OR. What is going on? |

If I turn on wifi, then SpeedTest knows I'm in Portland. But I'm then not testing my cellular connection, I'm just testing my Airport and Comcast. 14Mbps down, by the way.

Not at a lousy 1.6Mbps down I don't. I don't like it in Kansas :-(
