Predictions for First F1 GP of the year ?

I'm gonna go on a limb here and avoid the obvious favorites (red bull, McLaren) and predict a Kimi raikonnen - Lotus win... Likely ? No...

But it's the first GP of the year, stuff is bound to happen (unreliability, accidents), the track will be slippery and Kimi should be alright after a few years spent sideways ; -) Besides the Lotus seems alright... Also, I predict a decent mid pack result for Kovalainen's caterham and mid pack + for Senna in the Williams. Your turn ;-) |

Vettel Hamilton Webber Schumacker Raikonnen Both HRT's in front of the Virgins I think I'm most excited about Force India. Yay Hulkenberg - welcome back! He and Di Resta will be a great pairing. |

Kimi has scored some high marks so far, but RB is likely leaving something on the table. I think the new season will be a lot like the last season with some interesting racing behind the top 4 or five leaders. Therefore, I am predicting RB and McLaren to be at the front most of the way.

Have the Ferrari's already been dismissed based on pre-season testing?

If so I expect Fernando to have at least one meltdown in the garage with lots of yelling and hand gestures. DP

Will be able to provide a more accurate prediction after race 1, but Vettel is the man until further notice.

Now that the blown diffuser is gone, I doubt we'll see a total domination by Red Bull. With that said, I still think that Vettel will win the championship. I believe he's the best driver out there and he may very well still have the best car under him (by a slimmer margin than in past years, however). Hamilton is close, and Alonso can give him a run for his money for sure, if his car isn't a total failure. Schumacher can still drive very well in F1, but he's not what he was in his prime (who is?). If his Mercedes is as good as it could be, he can still win, here and there. To me, the most overrated driver these past few years has been Webber. He is fast, but he's not in the same league as Vettel, Hamilton, Button, Alonso, and even Schumacher for that matter. He's just been the number two driver in the most dominant car in F1 in years. The Red Bull was so damn good these past few years that it could've made the worst driver in F1 a contender. I like Webber, but he's a good driver in a GREAT car, nothing more.

Well, it seems like Red Bull and McLaren are going at it for the first race while Ferrari will be challenged by Lotus/Mercedes.

Though I would see Ferrari coming back right about the Bahrain/Spanish grand prix. Though that might be because I just want them to be in a stronger position and faster at that. The mclaren drivers should bring it to the RB drivers again. And that will make for a very interesting first race. |

2 Button 3 Vettel 4 Alonso 5 Schumacher 6 Rosberg 7 Massa I think Hamilton will either be 2nd or crash out and I am hoping Webber goes strong for hope of a good battle all season, and a safe one at that. I'd love to see MS steal it too but that would take some luck.
