chrome script locking up computer?

When deleting the browser history, about 90% of the time the computer freezes up for half a minute, and then this message appears:

"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Script: chrome://browser/content/sanitize.js:135"

Sometimes it takes several tries before deleting history works normally again.
Also, quite randomly, the hard drive will access at 100%, and the computer is made useless for about 10-20 minutes.

Nothing else is running in the background except Acrobat Updater, I believe.
No toolbars or other crap.

I'm using FireFox 10.0.2 with NoScript and BetterPrivacy(for LSO).
Also using Malware Bytes and Microsoft Essentials(update set to 30% max CPU).

I generally like Chrome better than Firefox. But the last week or so I would occasionally get this nasty little pop up - generally after Chrome was closed and then opened again. It could not be canceled and only a couple of restarts would solve the problem.

I unistalled and reloaded Chrome this morning and all is well. So far
