New ride

Just picked it up Saturday--1991 Range Rover. 100K miles, new brakes/tires, no codes/lights, everything works, no rust except for surface on driver's floor pan--already know the cause. Has a droopy headliner, and a small fuel leak on the return line on top of the tank, but was still able to drive it home.

I have been looking for something for the wife, but couldn't resist this in the meantime as a driving project

Now off to track down a manual download.

Nice! Google "Land Rover RAVE" for a free download of the factory service manual directly from Land Rover.

Awesome! Some people go all out in those old RRs ....they're a neat platform.

Classic RR - my favorite for sure. There are times I consider getting one of those for goofing around but when I actually have the cash ready the realistically priced (like <=$4K) examples are nowhere to be found.

Eric:

Very cool! They did one of those on 'Wheeler Dealers' and it showed in detail how to replace the head liner.

I'm always reminded of this when I see a white one...

I always liked that model, but though it needed wider wheels/tires to fill the wheelwells.

This is my second Rover--first was a 96 Disco I bought from the ins. co after my sister totalled it and it was hit with a salvage cert. I rebuilt it and used it as a DD for a few years till the tranny lunched.

I am aware of the Rover's um charms...

Thanks all for the kind words. I'll post more pics when I get some of the issues addressed

i love those!!

there is a rover shop near one of our offices..a worker modded one. he put big 255 series tires on it, so it has a lifted high look with the narrow military tires. it looks fantastic.

i complimented him and he replied.."yea, good thing i work at a rover repair shop"

For $4k, I could outfit a small police department with those. They'd never catch anyone in them, but they'd look cool standing still. They are great-looking rigs but you can buy them for the price of a tank of gas these days. In fact, if they have a full tank, the value goes up accordingly.

Cool, short-wheelbase...

The first model RR was the best looking in my opinion.

Does it have the Disco dash? Can't remember what year it changed.
