I'll be visiting Pelican quite a bit today.

Blew my knee to smitherines, and don't know how or why. A dusty pair of crutches in the garage never looked so good......

The knee has a history of getting silly when abused. The patella can wander sideways and cause pain that I know how to deal with- Immobilize for the night, and it will be better by morning. Guarenteed after snow skiing, or running on pavement. No biggie, if I'm having fun, it's worth it.

This time is very different. Sharp pain down the inboard side of the knee, and won't go away. Takes a long time to bend, takes even longer to straighten, always with severe pain. Not getting any sleep.

Staying home today, staying comletely off the knee. Gonna find some old books and check in here far more often than normal.

If I start typing really inane junk over in PARF, its because I'm bored. I'll try to behave myself.

The fact that you can bend it is a good thing.
I had a similar issue with my knee a year ago.
I am a jogger. After a while I went to the doctor X rays and stuff.
They said age and usage were reason for the pain. I have been getting physical therapy. My knee is back about 90-95% and jogging once a week now. Eliptical machine and biking for cardio the other days of the week. Good luck.

Okay, after behaving myself very well, I took a few steps without the crutches.

Big mistake!

Even with the splint, now the knee is screaming conniption fits and I have to get back to the crutches. Just the slightest bit of sideways pressure sends the knee onto near orbit.

Looks like I'm in for..... Not a whole lot of activity this weekend. The crutches shall remain my close friends.

I'm sure by Monday I'll be ready to hop back on the mountain bike.

For the love of all that is holy! Do not put ice in good scotch!

Ice on the knee. Just a little water in the scotch. (Helps speed the medicinal effect, don't you know.)

Sorry to hear of the pain.
If it is hurting when you do a particular thing: don't do that!

Get well soon.
