need a shop in NH

Picked up my 993 yesterday! First Porsche that runs and drives so I am super excited. 1996 C4S midnight blue w tan interior. The car was in West Virginia, drove it home and had a blast!

Bad news. Needs rear aligned badly. Tore ip a almost new set of tires on the way. I suspected the problem by the way it drove but a hotel for three nights vs cost of new tires was close enough that I drove home anyway. So I need a shop the can align it. Any suggestions? Aside from the dealer. Im not against going to the dealer, but its nice to support the local shops if possible.

I went to Auto Sport Engineering in Stow MA for my 944. I think it is about an hour and 15 minutes from Concord NH. They have a laser alignment system and it typically take about 2-3 hours per car. I searched Rennlist and Pelican before I called them and both forums had very good things to say about this shop. It is fairly pricey ($200-$300).

Roughly 800 miles on a set of rear tires?
Did you check for prior accident damage?
Hard to believe the rears could be that far out of alignment.

No damage I could see. Looked very straight as you look down the car. Roof is great. Both sides wore almost equally. It is lowered and very stiff. Did not check tires for camber wear, I am suspicious it was not loweredproperly. Will jack it up and peek around. Carfax was clean, but you never know. Ppi didn't show any concerns aside from rear main seal.

Previous owner only drove about 1000 miles a year. He did say he put new tires on since he bought it. They were nice when I left. Not brand new, but not far off, maybe 70% remaining.

+1, they do good work. Len, the owner, is a member of Pelican as well... I believe he posts as BoxsterGT.

I jacked the car up and crawled around under it a bit. Nothing odd, out of place, of a different age (replaced) etc. Really dont think this car was in an accident. Tires are worn fairly evenly across the tread. Right rear is worn slightly more than left rear. The rear bumper is covered with tire dust. It looks like I was doing burn outs at the drag strip. Ill admit, I hammered through the gears several times, but I dont think the wear is a result of that. The fronts are not nearly as bad as the rear, but they also appear measurably more worn than when I left. I can believe the fronts are worn due to my driving though.

I would like to go to Len since he seems to have a few fans and I have seen him on the board a few times. I am not sure the tires will make it (yikes!) The right rear has almost no tread remaining, the left rear is slightly better. If I did drive to Lens, I would need to have tires done there, no chance of getting there and back.
