I wonder why Porsche AG would make the announcement, and not Porsche-Design?

The son of the founder of Porsche, Ferry Porsche, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, died on Thursday in Salzburg at the age of 76. This was announced by the Stuttgart-based Porsche AG. Ferdinand, or FA Porsche had designed in the sixties, the rear-engined sports car Porsche 911, the technical and design is the basis of the company in the auto industry.

"We mourn the death of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche," was Porsche's CEO Matthias Mueller quoted in the release. "As the creator of the Porsche 911 he founded a design company in our culture that shapes our sports cars today. His philosophy of good design is for us a legacy that we will continue to do with honor. "

In 1962 he became head of the Porsche Design Studio and recorded here a year later, the Porsche 901 (later 911). Upon the conversion of Porsche KG into a limited company in 1971 and 1972 FA Porsche was removed along with all other family members from the business operations of the company.

Ferdinand Alexander Porsche is reported to be a close relative in the family grave buried in the bulk material in Zell am See. An official memorial service would take place later in Stuttgart.

I would not be on this forum or own a porsche at all if Ferdinand had not created the 911. Thank You! and RIP.
