I think that when a team is down 3-0 the adrenaline kicks in and they go bionic for a win. The problem is that even though the win breaks the cloud over their heads, the adrenaline runs out. What happens after that is dependent upon how much grit, will, and mental focus they have. The Bruins had that last year and that's how they hoisted the cup: scoring by committee, super human goal-tending, and a never say die attitude.
With all due respect, the Canucks (and the Caps) have talent but I don't think they have the grit. The Pens (barring a whining superstar who's name I won't mention) have grit but they may have forgotten where they keep it. We shall see.

You gotta love playoff hockey. This year has been the most entertaining first round since the lockout. The Pens Flyers are the best show in town. Who would have thought the Pres Trophy team almost getting swept?

Perhaps there is a need for a ban island for pro hockey players too?
I don't think that Torres suspension is a bad thing but they need to be consistent in doling out this type of punishment to the players and the teams they play for.

Torres deserves it. With his history he should be happy that Shanny can't void his contract. I'd say a tier system is needed. 1st offense with/without injury, 2nd offense w/wout and so on.

What stinks is the injury to Corvo's knee (missed by the refs) caused a 5 on 4 that got the Caps a goal. Its not looking good for the B's today. Bergeron and Corvo added to the list of injuries and, Thomas is not playing as well as last year.

Looks like a reputation that caught up with him. Check the video. He's been ruining people for years and all are targeted and intentional. I also suspect that Weber didn't get the bench because of his reputation.

My only solace is that most of the B's team have been here before last Spring. I'm hoping for good memories.

Just a minute or so left in the 2nd period and Marchand gets fouled but no call which leads to a 5 on 4 and for the second time in two games the Caps get a goal from the man advantage after no call from the refs. Bad calls are one thing but when you lose a 1 goal game due to them it stinks. Rant over.

In other news, looks like Cindy gets the rest of the Spring off. I feel bad for the sports writers. They just lost the guy they wrote over 50% of their daily stories about. I guess they can still say "The Stanley Cup finals start tonight but first, a story about where Crosby took his vacation today" Seriously, I didn't see why everyone thought the Pens were the odds on favorites to hoist the cup but, they played some awesome hockey at the end of the season.

I didn't watch the game. Caught the highlights on NHL.com. Looked like a goalie battle - great plays on both sides. There has to be a winner and loser. Good luck next year C!

"best team on ice" eh - "back to back"? Time for golf actually. Presidents Trophy means nothing other than home ice advantage in the playoffs. Acteally 'Home ice advantage' wasn't accurate I guess.

Well to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement, If I had to lay the blame on anybody it would be Dicky Duncan Keith of the blackhawks, the guy that put Danny Sedin out for 12 games and more importantly it would be Garry Bettman, the first to the final rounds have always been a game every second night and very rarely would there be a day off between games, look whats happened this year, 2 -3 days between games and not once but twice for the Kings/ Canucks series, Boston and Wash. have had breaks and now play 2 games in 2 nights. WTF is with that? I'm thinking GB's syphillis is causing him mental health problems, just another reason why this guy is so bad for the game we love, he should be taken out to the back 40 and given the lead treatment.
Complaining aside, we got beat by a team/system that was better than ours, no excuses but I'm still in shock.
