Back to Back - the best team on ice
The Vancouver Canucks did it again, like I knew they would, and won the Presidents Trophy for the second year in a row. We have L A in the first round and I can't wait, we're healthy and have 2 great goalies, we have a real good shot at the cup again this year.
Who's your team and how do you figure they'll do? Finn |
Our desert dogs (Coyotes) aren't doing too bad this season either. Fist round should be interesting (Blackhawks).
|
I don't really follow hockey, but wasn't that the team that got their butts handed to them by the Bruins last year prompting the peaceful, classy citizens of the cosmopolitan metropolis of Vancouver to burn half the city to the ground? I vaguely recall something about that in the news...
|
Well your Canucks stuck it our Oilers. That's fine. May the best team win. Well the Oilers get to play golf now if the recent snow would go away. In the meantime the Masters Golf is my fave. game. If the Canucks win the Stanley Cup, there will be no living with you.If they don't , there should be no riots - in theory anyway. Sounds like win win to me!Enjoy the ride. :)

"Back to Back - the best team on ice"
Gee, that's funny, I thought that the best team was based on the one that won the Stanley Cup. Show me Second Place and I'll show you First Loser. Now, who was it that won the cup last year? Oh yeah, now I remember http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1333923964.jpg |
I will say that based on last year's finals, the Canucks should do very well in the Olympics this summer

How about the worst team. It has to be the Leafs. They are the only team that hasn't made the playoffs since the lockout in 2004.
I am looking forward to the playoffs. You can't predict the first round.Last year was in my opinion the best playoff hockey in years. |
I know this is off the thread topic but I've always wanted to ask...why is the Toronto Maple Leafs logo blue? I thought maple leaves would be red?
|
Why is it spelled Leafs when the plural of leaf is leaves?

Just guess'in now but mabe the Canadians took red first, then with the Red Wings it would have been to confusing with the original 6 if 3 teams were red, another thought might be because of the British flag being blue????? we got the Maple leaf flag in 67 with our independence. I think that was the last year the Leafs won the cup - did we get the maple leaf flag cause the leafs won? Finn |
Jeez - lots of Boston support around here, thats good, I like team faithfulness, we'll just have to wait and see who has to sign off with "I love Gary Bettman" this year.

Calgary.
...... No, wait for next year. They were far too busy thinking about golf to give a rats ass about a stretch drive..... Who ever wins, it will be a riot! (How about these? Kentucky Wins but Students Lose in Basketball Riot Photos | Raw File | Wired.com Riots on LA streets as Lakers WIN NBA basketball championship | Mail Online) Maybe that is just a basketball thing and probably because it was invented by a Canadian!;)) Edit: Forgot a team that is actually in the playoffs. Maybe St. Louis this year. Stingy defense, two pretty consistent goalies. Would like to see Ottawa do well. |
I haven't watched any of the regular season. Too many games. But the post-season is where I get interested. We'll see if Vancouver get keep it up through all 4 rounds, not just 3 this year.
