Tired of Anti-LEO threads?
|
A natural result of the militarization of local law enforcement and the "War on Drugs".
"To Serve and Protect"? Really? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1334104426.jpg |
One bad apple dose in fact kinda ruin he whole dept. Time for them to rise up and clean up their ranks.
I have a bad one here in twn. I know it, they know it...yet it prevails as a dirty cop. Most are good guys...just a job....some...it goes to their head..some kind of gods...they think |

They don't earn no respect, they don't get no respect. They may think it's smart to have people fear them rather than respect them. We're seeing the results of that attitude, it means they can't turn their backs.
|
sorry, webbie. there is a reason that the LEO are mistrusted. and they earned it.

the FBI counts every dead cop and every shot or hurt cop
but not citizens killed by cops or shot or hurt WHY ARE THEY HIDING THAT DATA I think the numbers need to be published I strongly suspect the number is north of a 1000 to 1 of dead citizens to dead cops |
Im no LEO hugger, but Ill put in a good word for them over in incident that happened yesterday to me-
Speeding home on the highway going about 85 in a 55 (at night). I joined and passed a group of merging cars. One was pacing me and it was a cop. I didnt know this until he hit the flashers. I was so pissed at myself for about to be getting a ticket. Pulled over to the right lane, slowed down, looking for a pull over point. When I looked back he was gone, no lights. He just glided by me. I couldnt see a thing, but I imagined him wagging his finger at me saying slow the F down. If he led the way, I would have bought him all the beers he wanted that night. Maybe he liked Porsches. And the V1 was on, by the way. |

If the "good cops" don't rat out the bad cops, doesn't that make the good cops just as bad for allowing the misuse of authority to continue?

my brother is a policeman. a SWAT guy, so he has all the armored do-dads shown above.
his work ethics are unreal. my mom is jealous of his job..he tends to even put work ahead of family. drives my poor mom insane. he is never late for work, but will leave dinner with mom cold on the table. there isnt a fellow cop that has a bad thing to say about my brother..he is a sargent and everyone listens to him. he goes outside of his work duties and forms community outreach programs. on his own time. he raffled off a rifle and a pistol to buy toys that the SWAT team handed out at a childrens hospital. he had to force some guys to go. the kids love it. this year, it is hanging out with old folks at an old folks home..movies, checkers..reading..stuff like that. i meet all of his cop buddies and some of them are fantastic. some not so fantastic. the camaraderie is unbelievable. someone cased my mom's home and he sent out an email..i bet that residential block has never seen such police presence..they really stepped up to keep an eye out for my mom. my kid brother has some pull. i am proud of my younger brother. he went to college and as a little boy, he knew he wanted to be a policeman. he never deviated from the plan..HS, college, police academy..unlike me..i was like a plastic bag blowing in the wind. i hear some horror stories about lazy cops, stupid cops, and yes..crooked cops. but for the most part..i think they do a fine job. at least at at my brother's city. |
Well I should mention that my father is a local Sheriff's deputy, and my brother in law is U.Va's chief of police. Yet I still distrust the revenue generation machines with a god like complex.

seriously, i've been pulled over a total of maybe 14 times (four tickets in 26 years), of those fourteen times, i was lied to about 4 times. that is four out of 6 for county/city police, none for highway patrolmen. that is a pretty bad record, in my book. |

I can't help but sense a "guilty before proven Innocent" vibe everytime I deal with a cop. I should add that I have had some positive encounters with LEO's... but that was decades ago when they still had "to protect and serve" on their cars. |
