Well, the plot thickens, (or thins maybe). I talked to the manager of the building today and it was not the guy that I was guessing. It was some nice guy that everyone knew and liked, no one can figure out WTF could have happened. A complete mystery/who dunnit at this point. Freaky, like a movie plot.

It was definitely someone he knew, no forced entry or robbery, etc...

Thanks, Byron. But it would actually be more frightening if it was random, a robbery or break-in or (?). I'm going to talk to an LAPD buddy and see if I can milk him for any info.

And across town today there was a double murder on the USC campus of two Chinese engineering students. I had a meeting scheduled with their media relations boss at 9am and he emailed to say he was gonna have to send his deputy because he was dealing with the shooting. I didn't get to read the online papers until tonight, so I had no idea what had happened. It's very sad.

Yep, I don't know WTF is going on this week around here. Outsiders may not believe it but both of these crimes are pretty unusual. Strange, actually. Nice people don't usually get murdered by strangers.

The USC double homicide was not very far from me and in an historical neighborhood where I'm about to do a job on a house.
