new moderator?
A lot of us have been under the impression that there are 3 moderators for the OT forum and the PARF forum -- Nostatic, Z-man, and M3Wizard.
But that is not true. M3Wizard was banned a long time ago. Yes, you read that correctly, a moderator got banned! He has been gone since 01-22-2011, which is more than 1 1/2 years ago, and as far as I know, nobody let us know that he's been gone. Look at his profile for yourself, and look at his last messages. You will see that his last postings were very ordinary. Why is his name still listed as a moderator, after all this time? In my opinion, Zoltan and Todd *do* need help around here. That was the stated reason for M3Wizard becoming a third moderator in the first place! With only two moderators on these two forums, it's too much work. I think we need at least one more moderator, possibly two.... and for many reasons, they should be chosen by Zoltan and Todd themselves. I know this is not a democratic process, and there are many good candidates for the position(s), but to be honest I would like Laneco (Angela) to be among the people considered. Thank you. _ |

When threads are reported, they often are acted upon. No one can/will read every thread - it is incumbent on the community to do some level of policing.
How many posts have you reported? |

My first thought was to ask Seinfeld to be a moderator, but he's probably busy sitting at the deli all day.
Todd, why the re-direction and obfuscation? Can't we talk about this topic? _ |

There are a handful of folks I would 'vote for' for mod, someone in the vein of HughR or Targa911S.
Or maybe even Baz.

No obfuscation at all. I've been clear about this - I don't read every post, Z doesn't read every post. If there is something that you think violates the spirit of the board, there is a button for reporting. At that point we will take a look and make a decision on whether to act or not. It isn't a secret club and we don't get any renumeration. I have no issues with another moderator but I don't think it have the effect that you're perhaps seeking. |

The ultimate moderator is the admin, Wayne. Cross him and you're done.
No one would have me as a moderator. I'd have to change my user name to The Slasher. |

This community does, indeed, police itself. For the most part. There are the occasional hazy, partial pictures of nipple-like images. We are not complaining about those.
Then there are the nimrods here. Most of the contributors fall into this category. Once in a while, we get a real full-blown Richard-head here, and we usually take care of them without need of a moderator. This community is, dare I say it.....mature. I'm the new Moderator, by the way. So just don't piss me off. Understand?

I think we do pretty damn well taking care of ourselves and helping Todd and Z with what is really a difficult thankless job.
I for one appreciate both of them and they have been around long enough to know the personalities which is 90% of moderating. One day they will have had enough and that will be a sad day for me but likely a happy one for them.

I think Supe would be a good moderator. Despite our differences I have never known him to react glibly.

Supe, did you get your Napoleon hat yet?
![]() Todd, thank you for the explanation. I still think we need a third moderator, as evidenced by the time-outs you guys sometimes take for mental health, but that's just my opinion. I'll shut up now. I know when to shut up. It's not like me to keep talking when I'm told to shut up. In fact, far be it from me to keep yammering away when.... Oh. Okay. _ |

Hey Todd,
When oh when are we going to get a moderator in the "911 parts for sale" forum? Yea there is someone listed at the bottom of the page in this capacity but show us the last time he posted? Right now he has not posted in a weeks time and sure has been needed. Joe

I suspect that Aurel was joking, but tabs would make a good mod. --he doesn't rattle easily. And he is one of the main reasons OT took off, way back when.
IOW, he's been around for many of years here of doubt and pain. So have so courtesy, have some sympathy, have some taste... tabs as a moderator... yeah, sinners and saints would have to use all of their well-learned politesse or he would lay their posts to waste. sumthn like that.

Is M3Wizard one of Wayne's pseudonyms?
BTW, I think I brought this up a while ago...
