At a prior job I had one similar in size and age opened by a pro. He drilled it on the side - maybe a 3/8ths hold - and was able to get it open that way. Then we just welded up the hole - though it really wasn't necessary.

I took a similar locked safe to a local locksmith (who has since retired) and he charged me a very reasonable amount to open the safe...

I guess a 40# shape charge is not an option.... I'd make some calls to old-school locksmiths..

Come to think of it, the guy we used claimed he almost opened it with a listening device.

Neibour was a locksmith. He used to drill them and then use bodyfiller to patch the holes.

Looks like the Diebold in my garage based on the dial and age. PM me your email and I'll take a picture of the "tumblers" inside, that might help.

Let's start a lottery on the numbers.
Closest to the actual numbers gets a Byron gift. 10-33-27 and 4 if it's a 4 no. combo. |

couple of ways best is if it can be picked. 2nd drilled by a locksmith who knows where to drill and install a scope. After he'll jb weld a steel bb in the hole. 3rd is to cut a large hole in the back remove the lock from the rear of the door and weld up the hole once done. If you don't care about the safe I could get in many other ways.

okay - since no one else has yet, I'll suggest this as the combination:
8 - 6 - 7 - 5 - 3 - 0 - 9

It should be a 4 combo dial if I 'member right it's to the left first than to the right 3 turns than to left 2 turns right one turn and back to the last # The dial pack slips on to a splined sprue. you can modify all #'s but the last one. If you own a borescope I can tell you where my door has been drilled.
