Byron,
This is a really good talk - even entertaining: How to crack the lock on a safe without destroying it or leaving a trace | Video « Wonder How To A locksmith with a robo-dialer or a good guy that can just listen to it, will be your best option. I doubt you'll get it open yourself. I would advise very much against drilling it. That just will destroy the value of the safe. G |

We give you permission just this once to give it a shot! ![]() I have one about like that but its an old US Army safe. If its very quiet you can hear things moving around in the lock assy, but hope that I never have to get it open without the combination! ![]() Joe A

Am I the only one who thinks that looks like an old fireproof safe?
This can be restated Am I the only one who wonders if this is filled with asbestos or sheetrock?

I'd cut a hole in the back of the safe, and then remove the cover plate and align the gates and fence to open it up. I got my 7' tall Diebold safe from an old building in Vernon, CA that a client was going to demolish. It was locked open, and it took me about five minutes to turn the dial, look at the gates (notches) and figure out the combination.
