But, honestly man, if you have a DME harness for sale, tell folks that. I have seen so many DME harnesses being sold that I understand exactly what that entails, where it starts and where it ends. And it's no where near being a "complete" harness as in a whole car harness. That might seem like one thing to you, but complete and whole are the same thing in my book. At least you are making the deal whole. I hope that you have learned from this and that in the future that you do a better job of describing your items. Joe has a lot of experience in building cars and for him to not understand what you have really is your fault. As I said, you are making the deal whole and I think everyone will agree that is the end of it. |

There is a big difference between a DME harness and a complete as they are in the car harness. Do the right thing, a very simple Sellers mistake..
Parts for sale can bring to Hershey Should look like this..

Wow, all this over a misleading ad, or a confusion of sorts? Come on guys, it's only a small part, over $8.00. Lets all agree to disagree, send it back, eat some $$$ here and there. The sun will rise tomorrow.

Yeah, Joe is a cranky bastige, like a lot of us. I would be cranky too if I felt I had been sold a bill of goods. I don't care about the 8 bucks, but I am wondering if I would ever buy anything from this seller.
And that is what 8 bucks will cost you, Mr 007. |

I once sold a part that I assumed was off a certain year (since I took it off the car), but when the buyer looked up the part number it was the earlier version. I promptly apologized, and sent him a fedex shipping label and refunded his money.
It's not about the money, but one's mistake and owning up to it, not to mention your reputation for a measly $8...

had a similar issue with a member here a couple weeks ago. Only $20 but I'll never sell or buy anything from him after the way he handled it (or lack thereof).

Ok well I have offered a full refund. Been more than resonable while joe went ape****. My reputation is great and I do not steal or scam people. So to go and bash me over this is crazy.

This isn't ebay. (though I've sold a couple of items to forum members) but I have it there is a certain amount of unspoken trust expected between buyer/seller. ADV has similar 'rules'. Once I've accepted a member's money their happiness with the 'widget' is of utmost concern to me. I've shipped items and waited their inspection before their paying me just to avoid taking the chance of me being the 'bad guy' in a deal gone wrong.

You are spot on here. I could care less about the $8 bux, its the principal. I did nothing wrong and will not pay 8c to ship the incorrect goods back. Bryan still does not get it that "a man is only as good as his word" and he is still fighting to convince everyone that even when its his mistake that I should pay his return shipping. Sorry but it will be a cold day in hell before that happens.

One slight correction, you HAD a good reputation but acting like this has taken care of that. All you had to do was say "I made a mistake in this sale, so I will refund your funds and send you enough to ship the harness, then please send me the harness back" and this would have been over yesterday. I trusted you by sending the funds "sight unseen" with no photos on the advertisment. Now you get to do the same with me. 1. I will return the DME harness as long as you refund my money and pay the return shipping. This will be done before I re-box and ship anything. 2. I will retract any comments that are not true. 3. Will make no further comments about you on the forum. Your move. You have 24 hours to let me know one way or the other or I proceed with the PayPal/AmEx false advertising dispute. Joe A

I'm with Joe on this one, and not just because we are friends and I don't know the seller. If you're going to sell auto parts online, you need to know what the parts are and give accurate descriptions. Calling a DME harness or an engine wiring harness a "complete wiring harness" is either dishonest or very ignorant. There is no 3rd option.
The bottom line is that you sold something based on a false description and no pictures to a long time board member with a spotless reputation. I may disagree with Joe on politics sometimes but he's a friend and his integrity is not up for discussion. I believe him that the $8.00 is not the issue, rather the principle. The sooner you put this behind you, the better. |

If the falst is on the buyer such as he chose the wrong item to buy, then he should pay for the shipping and appreciate the seller allows him to return. If the falt is on the seller, false ad, the seller should pay for the shipping. Why would the buyer have to lose $8 or even $1, if he doesn't agree to, for someone else's falt?
It's funny some people posted as they don't care about $8. It's what's right and what's wrong, not only the $8. What Joeaksa offered above totally makes sense. Quote:

I'll send you a mail Joe. it's not complete, cut at the tunnel forward and then I've already sold sub-harnesses off it. THis bit is best used for spare factory wire, though as a main forward harness, it's good. and the fuse box is good. It's out of the 85 I cut up recently.
