Is this a 914 World vs. 914 Club issue?

We're "not" here. We're there. Or really we're here, but the DOS is going there, where we were, but aren't now...

James, some spammers tried to register on World, and the admins kicked them off. Standard procedure. But these spammers retaliated by launching a DOS attack, using thousands of proxy bot computers from many countries.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was started by a group of kids who have no idea how far their attack is spreading.

An innocent question was asked about if a escrow company was legit, Turns out it's a total Chinese scam site and they will launch a full scale DoS attack on any site that puts this info up.

I would name the scumbags, but then this site would be under attack again.

Mark is correct, the spammers will target any website that questions their scam.

It's not a bunch of kids. Sorry for the mis-info.

The escrow company claims it has 500 employees and two locations in Boston and LA. Looking at the locations on Google Earth they both have no mention of the company by signage nor do the locations look like they could house 250 employees each.

Hmmm why DDOS Pelican?

It may be obfuscation, check that people are not coming in the backdoor and trying to get at your payment processing systems.

Hopefully no CC's are stored anywhere, or at a minimum are encrypted, along with the user information (mine)

Good luck

Wow! . .and they get away with it?

Where's our govt?

Surprised no one has hired some Russian thugs to go after the pos scammers.

oh well, at least Gibson Guitar is being prosecutes for using the wrong wood.

Good work Wayne.

Rumor has it, this started with 914 world. There was a spam ad and they slammed the guy, so the 12 year old heshe got all bunched up in the undies.
He went after world, and then NARP, and evidently something mentioned the thread here in the 914 forum so the little enema-nozzle with the itty bitty dinky came after this site too.

And get this, it's against the law to shoot people like that. I know, go figure.
