"new" to me smuggler's box

removed the rear seat from the rig for more room for junk & the dog before the last race weekend and it worked well. with more time than money i dug up so old lumber & plywood i had laying around the compound and whipped this up... a lil pooch deck with some under storage. notice the use of the old smuggler's lid..

will put mcqueens bankies n rugs down soon as the paint is not so tacky.. he's all in and wants a ride already..

yeah...hate it when a project thread (complete with images) goes thud...LOL!

Painted plywood and pine doesn't really qualify for a declaration of "mad skillz, yo" but it looks like the pooch knows where his kibble gets gravy!! Is it secured in the event of an impact/roll-over?

Hah. I'd missed this thread the first time around. Anything that makes the pup happy is a good thing in my book. And he does look happy!

in all fairness, i did mis-post in the PARF by accident and todd moved it for me in the middle of the night. i figured it'd take a dog pic to stir the brain trust here.

its secured in a couple spots along the back using old studs that held the jacking tools. it does come out though with no disassemble,,, or to get to the stash as HD suggested...

if you look close in the middle two pics from the original post you can see mcqueen on the neighbor's lawn chillin whilst i slave for him.... fun few hours, thought the smuggler's lid would cause more a ruckus... what i really need is a cliffy endorsement...

yeah. the cover has the tabs that the maganet door stays are attached to. you can see the cover in a couple spots. there was no decent way to hinge it.

purpose was that the tunnel through the middle played havoic on mcq getting laid out proper like during roadies..

You took the seat pan out, but not the seat backs?

So, the back cannot be used for human seating anymore... why not take the backs out too? It's now just useless weight you're hauling around.
