Saw one of these in the neighborhood today!

I like these a lot.

Very cool. Definitely not your everyday.

Wasn't Wayne considering one to bolster the BMW side of Pelican a while ago?

I personally like the 850i and the Z8 better (in that order) but I certainly wouldn't turn down an opportunity to own an M1 if I ever got it at something resembling a reasonable price...

Cool that you got to see one driving around.

While sitting on a bench during lunch time, eating a chili dog from a street vendor, I saw one exactly like this go by:

Very cool looking A-M DBS.

M1 brings back some memories. We had a white with black interior one in the dealership. Ultra rare, not sure but I think Lamborghini might of built the chassis but it was a Giugiaro design. Exciting car at the time. Had the big six twin cam, balanced 'blue printed' built motor. I can remember the smell of the interior, the unique sound of that engine - traditional inline BMW 6 but you knew it had that more sophisticated valve train noise and had a linear power band. Never pushed it to know much beyond what it was capable of and only had a few short drives. The dealer principal was very kind to share his special cars when the time was right. The wheels might have been Campagnola special cast just for these cars. It shared off the shelf parts from other BMW's. Might have had the junky lever cable climate control / flap control from a 320i to the better Recaro seats. Fiberglass body.

Also remember the years when they campaigned them for racing. Thanks for showing the pic.

That cable/lever climate control system is overly-complex, but I just hope that they don't have the 320i hazard light switch. Those things break right out of the box and everything is routed through them. Terrible design. I use a pen cap to keep mine in the off position.
