Rigid 3300 Pressure Washer - WOW!!!!

Should be spelled RIDGID, sorry.

Yes, there are discussions here, but I want everyone to know about this. Some others may be in the market for a pressure washer and want something serious, not an electric toy. The RIDGID 3300 has a Subaru OHC motor and a CAT pump, which my research tells me are top of the line. Got it at Home Depot. Went together easily, started right up. Unbelievable power. I really like the "throttle down" feature. I think you could cut holes in wood with this thing.

Comes down to the right tool for the job. That would do nothing but expensive damage to the things I point a pressure washer at. I'm about to buy an expensive ~1000 psi. PW.

If you're cleaning barnacles off battle ships, that sounds like a perfect tool.

But its got no heat!!! Our pressure washer has an electric pump, and a big azzed diesel burner!

It will take paint off if you aren't careful....

when I worked at a new VW dealership, the manager asked us detailers what we needed and we said a pressure washer would be nice. The manager was a bit of a "if big is good, bigger is better" type of guy and got us a 4000psi pressure washer with hot water tank. One of the tips was 10 degrees and it would easily etch concrete without any trouble. We threw that away quickly before one of the dumbass sales guys used it on a car by accident.

"before one of the dumbass sales guys used it on a car by accident."

Yeah, but......

If those dumbass sales guys don't sell cars NO ONE there has a job anymore.

There are different jobs to be done, and different brains to do them.

Watched a guy at Home Depot a few years ago cutting hardwood pallets with a pressure washer. It's easier to dial back a good pressure washer vs. not having enough power.

I own one. Have had if for over a year. They are made with fuel injection or carb. Get the carb. Then you get the idle down feature. I first bought the fuel injection. Did not like it and returned.

I like it a lot. Well worth the extra few hundred dollars over the smaller units.

(ex Army medic) 20 years ago I had to do first aid on a mechanic who had cut his foot with a petrol powered pressure washer.
He was cleaning he underside of a truck and had flip flops on.

.... Horrible. I looked like an axe wound and it took weeks to heal

Off topic but even worse was a Namibian guy who had been tortured with an industrial sand blaster. When I got to him most of his muscles were striped off his feet and legs.
He spent months in a UN hospital and lost both of his legs from the knees down.

However, the RIGID bright green 25 degree spray tip will minimize this risk..........

Cleaning exchanger bundles at refinery in Toledo. The washer unit heads were designed to pull themselves through the long tubes. One entered a guys body from the groin area and pulled itself upwards into his chest cavity. Buh-Bye

I also think the thing looks like it's worth seven hundred and change.

One imperfection is the hose material is too hard. Coils up on itself more than I would like it to. Not a big hindrance and I am searching for criticisms.

FYI - You can buy a more flexible power washing hose at a higher PSI rating but I understand it is really expensive.

Also, as I noted above, I had the fuel injected Subaru. I would walk on it's own when running. The carb unit stays still.

I have an in-ground pool.. I had my walking fuel injected Soobie/RIGID unit near the pool. I was turned away washing like a fool. It took a swim. That is why I have the carb model.

Edit - there was a second person that depressed the engagement foot pedal but I understand he was distracted. Doh.

I kept the wand pressure nozzle handle/hose off my POS electric one I had ($99 and lasted only a year).

It works almost as good off a bare hose as it did when it was hooked up to the old pressure washer.

We should do a "show me your pressure washer" thread. I'd like to see some of the machines you guys are talking about....
