The Live-in 84 y/o MIL passed last night
She had been living with us for the last 4-1/2 years. Saturday she fell and went via 911 to the hospital. Monday night when I was in Denver, she had a massive brain hemorrhage I flew home last night and paid my respect a few hours before she passed. It could have been worse, she could have lingered and been basically brain dead for an extended period of time. This will be the first time in 27 of my 28 years of marriage where only the wife and I will be living in the house.

Sorry, Hugh. She didn't suffer for a long time in the hospital. Going quickly at 84 is a pretty good way to end the journey.

Thanks everyone. My wife is doing fine. You could see her going down hill rapidly for the last month or so. She was ambulatory with a walker until two days before.
