Anchovies?

Yes, or no? Me, I love em'. I now have my biz partner, and our two helpers hooked on them as well. But at home, the simple mention of them, will have me sleeping at the shop. Not even allowed in the house.

Canned anchovies are pretty salty and good on pizza and Caesar. I have gotten deli prepped ones in bulk which are delish and not that salty. Dunno how many delis prep them this way...gourmet only I expect. If you find them try 'em..

Love anchovies - olive oil packed only, if canned.

i love the non salty italian ones. damn good!!

the salty ones soaked in oil are great as an ingredient. minced tiny and mixed with tomato paste and then cooked into a beef stew is amazing. makes it taste beefier. dont ask me about the chemistry..i cant remember.

Soak them in milk and it knocks down the salty and fishy-ness.

Try a simple salad of anchovies, some thinly sliced onion, thinly slice tomatoes, olive oil, salt and pepper. Awesome stuff.

Like 'em. Only within the past 5 or 10 years though. I used to hate them.

I had never tried them until I was in the Army many years ago. One of the guys ordered a couple of pizzas with anchovies so that nobody would bug him for a slice - because so many people seem opposed to the little fishies. He was having a great time with people who would ask for a slice, and then recoil in horror when they saw the slices of fish. I was a bit more stubborn. I tried it and loved it.

I've been ordering pizza with them ever since.

My wife put anchovies(the ones in olive oil in a tin) in a stir fry the other day. She also put fresh garlic, some tapenade in as well. After frying the above then u stir in the precooked noodles and cook a bit more. Anchovies really add flavor. I tend not to have anchovies on pizza as they are too overpowering

Love them, Greek salad, pizza, and between two slices of bread.
Same here about the wife not wanting them in the house.
