quickest and easiest way for me is to go to irfanview.com and download irfanview. Open picture with irfanview, hit ctrl-r for resize, choose size, and ctrl-s to save.

For one or two at a time, I use Irfanview.
For resizing entire folders full of photos, I use JPEG Resizer.

Both are free, unlike p-shop.

you can use irfanview to resize batches of files all at once...well except the ones that are of a different orientation (landscape vs portrait)

The only pics I can post here are the ones taken with my iPhone. I cannot resize the digital camera's photos to get them to upload no matter what I do. The "auto resize" feature went away a few months ago and I miss it!

If you press Alt-PrtSc it will copy your active window to your clipboard, then you can paste it into paint. I use a free tool called PrintKey2000 that you can use to drag a rectangle to capture only a portion. SnagIt is another popular one. I like Printkey because you can just run the .exe without needing an actual installation.

Hit the "Print Screen" key.
Open MS Paint.
Hit Ctrl+V.

I use Picassa to do my resizing. It's free and easy to use, You can find it here: Picasa

Good luck!

Google Screenhunter 5.0 free. It will allow you to capture only what you want. Save to a dump file or clipboard etc. Been using it daily for years.

If someone is still using WinXP, there's a neat little MS application called Power Toys. It has an Image resizer.

Rick Click, select resize image, and bang. Gives you a couple different size options, and whether or not to resize the original or make a copy.

Sure wish they'd make PowerToys for Win7.

Store your photo at photobucket - they have resizing options in their editing features - and then link to it with the image link function here at Pelican... that way, if for some reason you don't want that photo to be seen at a later date, you can delete it at photobucket, and it will 'disappear' from anywhere you have created a link back to it. You will have better control over the 'lifetime' of the photo.
