Isn't camping great!

Sitting here in the shade, drinking a beer, taters just went on the grill, creek babbling behind me, 31 degrees in the shade, kayaked the lake today, and the campground has wifi, so I'm posting on Pelican.

I'd post a pic but I "only" brought the iPad.

Camping is great!

Don't understand camping. Not into spending money to pretend I have none.

My favorite is to leave the truck at the far end of the road, strap on the backpack, and disappear into the wilderness for a while.

Ya know what I like best about camping? Letting someone else do it!

I am the same way. My parents never took me camping, because they loved me.

For those like camping, have fun and enjoy.

My goal is to sleep outside more than inside. So far 4/12 months average per year. Life is great!

There is nothing on earth better than sleeping outdoors, under the stars, IMO. Preferably on the coast of central CA. with the waves crashing a couple hundred feet away. No bugs and comfortably cool.

I can't sleep well if I think that a bear or even a raccoon is going to sneak up on me, though.

Now this is camping
The problem with most "campers" is that u barely get off the highway. The way to see the great scenery is strap on a backpack with lite weight gear and hike away from the highways. Trails are okay even(because if you go missing it is easier to get found). I have seen scenery that u car bound campers will never see. There are risks and it is not that comfortable but for me it is worth it! Hiking + good scenery = heaven

I don't blame you for being outdoors instead of dealing with the Calgary Stampede herds...
I'll go out this weekend, no way on earth I'll go to the grounds this year..

BC, Radium to be exact.

Sorry guys there was a miscommunication, i love to tent but my wife and kids wouldn't be into that so when i say camping i mean a trailer; towed by the Cayenne <-- Porsche content, that has a shower, microwave, stereo with outdoor speakers, and an indoor/outdoor TV.

Someone stole the beer out of my cooler last night so I'm a little miffed, but it's all better now that it's replenished and going down smooth.

Camping is great (except for other people)

Tapatalk and an iPad camera connector kit for $25 and you can upload pics. It comes with two modules, one for USB and another for memory cards. Plug the camera in and it does the rest.

I just came back today from Trailer camping at Shaver Lake, CA which is in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Should have taken some pics, but didn't.

Mmmmmmm... Sounds lovely. I am one of the few gals who love camping. Used to take backpacking trips when I was younger. Where you "lived off the land". Haven't gone in a while. I am about due.

Camping, done minimalist, is one of the most relaxing things I have ever experienced. Can't wait to go again.
