Last Saturday night I went to my local indy shop as they had a complimentary pig roast and open house. It was one of the most interesting experiences I have had for a long time. There was as much food as u could eat, wine, beer etc. I got to meet the manager and the mechanics. I asked the manager and the mechanic if I could watch work being done on my Boxster for a few minutes if I was getting major work done. They said no problem.
Also as the Edmonton Indy was on, there were a couple of pit crew types there. One was on the pit crew for the sports car class - this one looked after a 944. I hope your Porsche/Indy shops have open houses. I encourage u to attend. I won a door prize of an Audi cap, bluetooth type handsfree cell ph. setup, t shirt etc. I have had them do PPI's for the last 2 cars I have bought. The best $200 I have ever spent
