New Order - US Tour
I know there must be a few Pelicans here that are New Order / Joy Div fans.
Who is going? I picked up a pair of tix for Oakland, CA (OCT 05) and planning on getting tix for LA ( OCT 07) as well. |

Wow, just looked at the lineup and they are touring without Peter Hook? Sorry, but New Order/Joy Division without Peter Hook is not the same band.
I say this as a huge JD/New Order fan, and I saw New Order for the first time in 1983 at the Hollywood Palladium, where their entire encore was comprised of JD songs. (I still have the shirt  )Also, Peter Hook was probably the reason I picked up the bass over 25 years ago. The show won't be the same without him. Bummer, as I got excited when I saw this post.

I was a New Order fan. Not so sure I would want to see them now.

I noticed that they are playing at the Olympics closing ceremony. Watching that on TV is probably about all the effort I'll make, though they are playing in Chicago in October. I agree with the sentiment of the others, 20 - 25 years ago hell yes, now not so much.

I see the glass as half full --- or two glasses half full.
For Peter Hook, I attended two of his "The Light" shows in LA. Great energy, great Joy Div music! N.O sans Hook is not the same, agreed. But, still 75% original. Quote:
