PRINCE Of MONACO'S CAR COLLECTION AUCTIONED!

Very Interesting collection of pre and postwar vehicles. Did anyone know that the Prince liked 1964 Dodge Darts!! Also note the cheesey paint/stripe job on the 82 928S ( where is Joe Bob to fix that baby up..).. The estimate was for it to go at about 20,000 Euro tops ...went for >40,000 ..go figure 67k miles

enjoy..

Sale N° 2231 - Reserves from H.S.H the Prince of Monaco's Private Collection of Cars | Artcurial | Briest - Poulain - F. Tajan

A 928 went €40k?

A 1976 bug for €22k?

I guess the prince needed to raise some cash to pay his bills.

That collection is just all over the place. No common thread in any of it. Not by styel, not by make, not by collectability - just a mish-mash.

It's like what a hoarder would have, not a collector.

I think the abandoned cars on Monaco's streets ended up in a warehouse and these cars became his "collection".

Surely, the Dart was for the serfs, I mean, servants, to drive to fetch things.

I would have liked to have the '73 Camaro. I used to shuttle cars for Hertz back in college, and we would have fights to see who got to drive the Camaros. Sweet cars for the day.

I think car auctions have replace art auctions as the money laundering venue of choice.

Money laundering and Monaco go like hand in glove OMG long the tax haven of despots, coup refugees from the 3rd world flush with suitcases of cash and international arms dealers. The going rate for " citizenship" in MC is still about 50 million up front to HRH the king,. even Schumacher is a local.

anyone remember Adnan Kashoggi the famous arms dealer testifying to congress via satellite while perched on a gold lame couch in Monaco.. during the Iran Contra hearings.. he was whining that it was all just a bad arms deal and the US CIA screwed up the deal on the back end...
