The heat is on...

...in SoCal. 86 inside the house and 90 on the back patio. Outside air temp is 86 at 7:30 pm.

It will be 82 inside when I get up tomorrow morning at 6. About 84 at midnight.
I don't do much in August except hide in an air conditioned bedroom from 2pm on.

It's bloody hot here now. We caught up with the rest of the country.

Supposed to be 107* here tomorrow.

Going cookout for my grandson's karate school. Going to make about 3 gallons of gatorade for the little gaffers and put it in one of those big coolers they have on the back of the Cal Trans trucks

It was 113 here a week ago. That followed two days of 112. Today we had a low of 72 and a high of only 95. We are ready for fall.

Dry heat is total BS. When it was 113 here the humidity was 21% and that was lower than Death Valley humidity. That is Africa hot.

Africa hot. Perfect analogy, Glen. It is a dry heat. But as a friend of mine says, turn on the oven and stick your head in it. That is a dry heat too.

95 has been the high here for a several days, and it's been in the low 80s at 10:30 PM. That's at 3,400 ft. elevation. I remember during high school in Fresno, CA, I was coming home at 10:00 at night one time during summer. I had the local popular music station on (AM at that time), and the guy said, "It's 10 o'clock and it's 100 degrees." I'll never forget that.

110 filming at Vasquez Rock yesterday, about 80 at the Port of Long Beach today. 106 when I got home at 6 PM and 101 now at 9:00 PM.

Usually no matter how hot it gets here, it drops down to the low 70s at night in the Summer, maybe not tonight.

Kind of humid too.

North San Fernando Valley - Just dropped under 90 on my patio at 9:15 pm. Had to work out in the gym (treadmill) - which I really don't like. The dogs are getting bored ... they can only go for a swim these days ...

Speaking of a swim ... see you later!

Wednesday:

Exercise is either the treadmill or recumbent stationary bike. The pool feels like a hot tub. Definitely feeling this heat more this year than most.

The pool was hotter than the outside air at 8:30 tonight. 90* pool, 86* air. Oh well. The water is not even being cycled through the solar panels during the day.

Yesterday and today about 96 with 97 to 98 percent humidity. The heats not bad but the damn humidity is just oppressive. Maybe as I get older I am losing the tolerance for the humidity, but I swear its hard to breath outside.

Run it up on the roof at night to cool it off

It got up to 85 degrees today and a bit humid in San Luis Obispo. Currently 56. You don't notice the heat unless you don't have a fan nearby.

You don't know oppressive, until you get nailed with 100+ temps in the south
