Every day I would walk to school. Every day this dog was waiting in the big bay window in the front of the house, poking its head out from the lace curtains, waiting to bark at the kids walking by. The dog was there in the morning, the dog was there when we walked back home. Every day. Monday through Friday, week after week.

I don't know what the deal was with that dog, I guess it just couldn't help itself. Whenever it saw a kid with a backpack walk by, it had to bark. Year after year.

I wonder how many years of that dog's life were spent at that window. I wonder why that dog felt the need to bark at every kid that passed? Why not go take a nap, or chase a ball or whatever dogs do during the day. Instead, it just sat there. Waiting to bark.

another thread gone to the dogs.

IMO, the original question was simple and honest enough, and the thread would probably been a two-pager, at most.

It would go along the lines of seeking a informational hobby forum, or a parenting forum, or another internet forum: A request for an reference from someone that does not know.

The personal comments belong in their proper venues.
Geesh. /internetmoderatormode

Spot on! Thank you!

Cool story Rick. Poor little bastard probably went mad trying to work out how many times you did grade 3.

Yeah but all that practice adding and subtracting sure helped me graduate med school! Now, if you'll excuse me, I must finish my knitting.

*edit*

I was about to send this to PARF, but screw that. This imho was NOT a "religion" thread. A member asked about suggestions for other interest-based online communities. It was not a trolling thread, and most respected that.

So instead of moving it, I'm going back and removing the posts that imho are trying to drag it into PARF.

This is one funny thread and Scott you seam to be one hell of a pot stirrer. Nobody noticed that his avatar is a cat with a machine gun. Come on.

genrex 08-24-2012 07:10 PM

Good point. :) But it's all in fun. I seem to recall a time a few years ago when everyone's avatar was a cat with a machine gun. Sometimes a good blasting by a cat with a machine gun is good therapy...
