I think the signapore race is one of the best venues on the circuit!!!
with all the politics in F1 its really hard to explain it, you cant go wrong rooting for Ferrari's alonso.... however I think vettel is due for a win.

Root for Hamilton, Vettel, Webber, Raikkonen or Button. If you have access to a firearm shoot Alonso. Or his car I don't care which.

Oh and while you're at it if you see a little white haired guy shoot him too.

Seriously you'll have a hoot. The joy of going to F1 races live (IMO) is the spectacle. I usually go to Totalf1.com as it links to almost everything else.

Grant,

Awesome introduction race to F1! I am a big fan of Schumi, but I just can't seem to find the energy to root for Mercedes GP.

Become a dedicated tifosi and root for Ferrari!!!

Edited for extreme:
Btw....to be sure that you are a top notch Ferrari fan be sure to live by this principle. All things RED

Red shirt
Red hat
Red shorts
Don't forget your Red undies and socks.

Throw in a few prancing horses in their and you are sure to be a 100% Tifosi.

You have to root for Button and if he gets in a shunt then Hamilton.

All the food in SP is amazing but try the Malay food when you are there, its absolutely amazing and usually served on a leaf.

Thanks for the info guys, I love racing but feel almost embarrassed by my lack of F1 knowledge. Will check out the links and brush up on my knowledge... I am somewhat familiar with the top 6-8 high profile drivers but really need to brush up on the big picture of the points system, current standings etc.

sm70911 I am living in Kuala Lumpur until December, have been here 14 months. I love Malaysian food but don't need to go to Singapore to get it, I eat it every day ;-) the food scene in Singapore really is tops though and it is easy to eat very well here. Tomorrow is dim sum breakfast and chicken rice lunch... Mmmm mmmm!

Standup, raise your beer and scream every time Kimi goes by.

Lucky man!

Totally agree, especially the short grey haired guy.... hit him twice, he more than deserves it!

+2 on the ear protection. You might need plugs and over the ear phones. You can scream all you want, no one will hear.

Don't spit your gum out on the sidewalk.

If Hamilton's McLaren drops out (especially if he hits the wall) cheer wildly! Raise a ruckus! If Button wins, cheer wildly! Raise a ruckus. Same ruckus you'd raise if Mark Webber wins.

If Massa wins pretend to faint with disbelief. If Alonso wins act like you knew it was inevitable.

Hire a translator so we can figure out what he's saying on the podium

You don't need a translator. You just need a hearin' aide, old man.

Yeah, I can't hear squat either. By the time podium interviews come around, it's often 7 am and the kids and pets are running around making too much noise to hear anything Mumbles has to say.
