Nice trailer hitch!

Yeah, that's not bad for Road Atlanta.

After attending DE's for 10 years, its generally the newer cars that end up like this. Seen plenty of GT3's bunged up. Not hard to understand why. I always felt like if I was going to drive in these, I better be able to walk away from possible totaling my car and not feel the financial effects. My 89, although dear to my heart, isn't worth more the a good used minivan. I can't wrap my head around how someone can thrash a new $100k car and be ok with that.

It's all relative.

Yep, it's only money.....

No Lift....what do you mean? You HAVE to have numbers on the car at a DE.

I will feel much better when I can start using my "expendable" '84 Carrera as my DE car. Next month. |
Upper Canada Region requires #s on the car. I believe most PCA chapters do.
Good point that it seems to be mostly the newer cars involved in the accidents. I think the only older cars I've seen munched at the track were a 993 and a 968 race car. Well, and mine... I do wonder if a) the folks driving the newer cars can afford not to worry about it, and/or b) the folks driving the older cars know they're much harder to replace, and probably have more of an emotional attachment to the car. Certainly, my car is like my 3rd child, and as a result I don't really drive it beyond 8/10 at the track, especially the corners where the walls are very close. |
I have seen plenty of banged up cars of both sorts at DEs. Newer cars probably get photographed more and maybe sustain more damage(?) In a faster car, **** happens faster but you.have to try harder to wreck them.

What's the big deal? Isn't this just a simple insurance claim? I know for bikes, most insurance companies will insure a crash if its a DE, rather than a timed competition event.
|
I thought the "jig was up" with using your insurance for a claim at DE's. It doesn't take much investigating to see whats up. Hey, if you can get it covered, all the power to you. I'm out of touch with that stuff anymore.
|
IMHO, not cool to post pics of cars banged up in DE's.
