Too bad, all those Hobby Lobby employees chained in the stores and can't leave to work elsewhere.

AAPL joins the $700 Billion market cap club - as the only member.

So why not let every company use this logic? It should be pretty easy to pick through the bible/koran/book of mormon to find a passage that justifies discriminating against just about any group.

Me too. Probably the best choice.

A report on holiday sales:

"To put this in perspective, for every Samsung devices that was activated, Apple activated 2.9 devices. For every Microsoft Lumia device activated, Apple activated 8.8 devices. While, the holidays in general and Christmas in particular are not the sole indicator of the smartphone market share and trends, it is safe to say that Apple’s newly released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have had a blockbuster holiday season, despite a lackluster holiday season for the consumer electronics industry."

I was in the ATT store yesterday and noticed that most of the floor space was dedicated to Amazon fire and Nokia Windows devices. Small table near the entry was Apple.

Maybe something to do with a thing called, "margin", or perhaps reflecting the potential market around this store.

Amazon cut the bundled price of the Fire phone from $200 to $0.99, hoping to goose sales. But the phone is still not moving the needle. They've announced a complete redesign for 2016, which doesn't seem the wisest sales tactic.

I also think that the store doesn't have to devote a lot floor space to Apple products. They seem to sell themselves.

I was strong on holding, but I'm getting a little nervous.

The 10 year went below 2% today, and I think there are a lot of other signs that this will be a rough year for the stock market.

I think if AAPL bounces up near 110, I'm going to sell. (I'll buy it back at 75!).

Apple had a pretty good quarter."
And by “pretty good”, I mean it was the biggest quarter in history. And not just for Apple. For any company. Ever.

This page charts the past record holders. Until today, Russia’s Gazprom (the largest natural gas extractor in the world) held the record at $16.2 billion in a quarter.
Top Ten Largest Corporate Quarterly Earnings Of All Time:

1. Apple, 2015 1Q – $18.04 billion
2. Gazprom, 2011 1Q – $16.24 billion
3. Royal Dutch Shell, 2008 2Q – $16.18 billion
4. ExxonMobil, 2008 3Q – $15.27 billion
5. Apple, 2014 1Q – $13.10 billion
6. Apple, 2013 1Q – $13.08 billion
7. Apple, 2012 1Q – $13.06 billion
8. ExxonMobil, 2007 4Q – $12.53 billion
9. Apple, 2012 2Q – $11.6 billion
10. ExxonMobil, 2005 4Q – $12.28 billion

Apple now holds the record: $18.04 billion in profit, fiscal Q1 of 2015.

Absolutely. Insane.

For reference, that means Apple makes around $8.3 million dollars per hour in profit (24 hours a day.)

Of the current Top 20 record holding earners, 15 are Oil/Gas producers — primarily ExxonMobil and Shell. The other 5 are all Apple, over various quarters.

To put things in perspective:

Period -Profit
Quarter -$18,040,000,000
Monthly -$6,013,333,333
Daily -$198,241,758
Hourly -$8,260,073
Per Minute -$137,668
Per Second -$2,294

Pretty interesting that 50k contracts traded in the Jan EOM 110 strike today. The straddle at the close implied a move of about 7 bucks either way to BE if you bought the straddle. Thats some pretty lofty IV for the days. 7 Bucks of premium for three days. Almost makes me miss standing there being a premium seller... almost.

I guess it's a good thing I didn't sell.

Still thinking about selling, though.

The beauty of options.... getting back to the Jan EOM 110 Straddle I was talking about the other day. Had you sold the Straddle for the 7 bucks or bought the straddle for 7 bucks you could have been a winner!

A call is a put and a put is a call... infact they're the exact same thing!!
