Another article, which is worth exactly what you paid for. :-)

Apple gives weak forecast, shares fall nearly 7 percent

"BENGALURU/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Apple Inc shares slumped nearly 7 percent in after-hours trading as its fourth-quarter revenue forecast fell short of estimates and it missed some targets for iPhone sales."

Hard to know how the watch is doing, as it's rolled into 'other products,' but I saw some analyst tweezed out an estimate of $952 million for the first few months of sales. The watch appears to be a pent-up demand item with strong initial sales rate, falling off to maybe 3000 units a day. But it's all speculative.

Disclaimer: I went in to see the watch as soon as it was stocked in the store and found it irresistible, so I am a happy owner.

Hell freezes over:

"A year after teaming up with Apple on an enterprise partnership to push iOS devices and apps for business users, IBM is moving forward with plans to rapidly move its own employees onto Apple's platforms"

Anecdotally, IBM is looking at buying 150-200,000 MacBooks.

Wow is right....just saw this thread had updated searching for something else. This could be a big game changer as until recently Apple has been virtually invisible in the corporate IT world and their lucrative budgets.

Is harmony in politics next ?

Actually Apple has been anything but invisible in the corporate IT world. 92-98% of the Fortune 500 use Apple devices. To me, the big story was IBM initiating a significant purchase. Its not as if those are the only MacBooks IBM will ever buy... just the first wave. From a security standpoint, OSX makes a lot of sense.

Sorry TW, but I believe that statistic is a bit misleading (and that's a good thing for Apple) as I would bet the % of actual devices (outside of tablets and phones) would be less than 1%. I lived in the corporate IT world before retireing 7 years ago. Saw exactly 1 Apple device on my networks during my tenure with IBM, two megabanks and another F500, and would still be w/ HP (a once glorious company) had I not said "adios". Just my perspective and .02 worth....but I "might" be a dinosaur by now too

If you mean that in 92-98% of the Fortune 500 companies, some people have iPhones, then maybe.

"use Apple devices"??? What a BS misleading statistic. So one person in the entire Fortune 500 company uses any Apple product and they can claim that company "uses Apple devices"

So much wishful thinking.

Reality is that Apple is in the corporate world...

actually IBM has been using Apples for a while - my last MacBook Pro and iPad were both purchased from IBM's reconditioned store - where their employee's old tech gets refurbished and then resold to other IBM employees (or their friends). Latest buy - MacBook Pro - quad core i7, 750 gb drive, 16 gb memory 15.4", 18 months old - under $700 - guaranteed for a year. It's good to know IBM employees... smile
