Ian,

Is your Father still alive? If yes, a very good friend of mine owns a NA-64 that he bought from Canada, the airplane that the students learned in before the Harvard.

If he is interested could probably get him a flight in one... :)

Joe,

What is it about Budapest that makes it more special than other F1 circuits? (I get Spa, Monaco, and Monza.)

Also forgot one important thing. The two tracks (Spa and Monaco) have one thing that you do not realize until you are there in person... their altitude changes are pretty dramatic and you simply cannot see or feel that on television. Start walking the hills around there and all of a sudden you understand what its really like.

Well gents, after watching the race on TIVO last night IMHO Grosjean got off lightly. My gut feeling is that the older experienced hands in F1 are tired of this "young pup's" accidents and would not surprise me one bit if they have a drivers meeting after this and tell him "one more cock-up of any sort and we will go to the FIA en-masse and ask them to revoke your Super License!"

He is fast enough but the signal from the brain to the brake pedal just isnt working yet and at this time he is too dangerous to be allowed on track...

That's what you get when half of the drivers on the grid are buying their rides. It's pitiful.

stop much better. IMO

They said at the time that that incident would be investigated, have you seen any follow up? I agree that it was more about the pit in lay out, than the drivers. They may have to put turn signals on the cars to manage that entrance.

People say Le Mans is the race top see, but Spa is the race to feel. I would choose Spa because the countryside seems like it was 70 years ago, while Le Mans seems so septic and clean and sanitary.

Start Grosjean from the pits... once he makes it to lap 2, he can be a really good driver, but for some reason he has major brain farts during the starts. It was a good race, but would have been much better with Alonso and Hamilton.

Grosjean = one more reason to dislike the French.
Lucky he didn't kill someone with that stupid move. He should be banned for a year.

He admitted he slipped early off the clutch by accident.

Like drag racing, it takes a split second for the car to react. .4 seconds is typical in top fuel.
In order to get the car to move at the exact same time the lights went out, he had to mash the go pedal while the lights were still lit.

Spa is by far the track I'd most like to visit (and drive). Budapest is a great city but the Hungaroring is kind of a boring track imho. Monaco has the history, Monza doesn't do much for me as I prefer a more technical layout. Suzuka is a neat track with the Spoon and 130R and Istanbul Park is another one I'd like to see/drive.

Grosjean is out for Monza and I suspect that there will be further fallout. If he'd taken out a back marker it would have been no big deal. But taking out Alonso and Hamilton is a bit more high profile. Then again, knocking out Alonso was perfect for tightening the driver's championship so maybe Bernie will give Roman a bonus :D
