Shroomin'
We got a bunch of rain (finally) over the past couple of days and these monsters popped up. Each one is about 10 inches across. Don't know if they are edible or not!

What's the upside of eating them vs. the risk?
Not sure if there was anyone in the world who I'd trust to tell me these are ok to eat. Certainly not someone on the interwebs! The spores may have come from your mulch and a completely different area or even continent! Every year in Europe and other places with significant immigration there are horror stories of immigrants finding a familiar mushroom in the new country's woods and filling up on them. Only to kill their families because they fell for a poisonous lookalike that only exists in their new country. G |

Don't worry Art, I'm not back in college in 1968! (at least physically)
Back then probably would have tried a little bite and I had friends that would have gobbled them down. But I'm slightly more cautious and sensible now days and most all those old friends are dead from OD'ing on one thing or another. ![]() Now our Fig trees are another thing....Full and juicy like candy. I will eat toooo many!

Very dangerous.....they can cause blindness or even death. Just watch your pets and you'll notice that even your dogs wont eat them.

I'll bet they're tasty stir fried with a little butter...until three days later, your kidneys fail and your arms fall off.

Provided there are no pets in the area or small children, I would leave them. I think they look kind of cool.
