laser grid projector

does anyone know of a product that'll throw a set of user programmed laser grid lines on a table?

we have a need in factory floor to do jig alignments of various products.

i was looking at the Macrovision ShowWX but don't really need its full color capability. also not sure how visible it is in light factory floor setting. requirement would be bright enough to see, single color (although multiple colors would be nice too) grid lines. just no need for full color.

subscribing,, I know of single laser line products but I'm thinking you'd need an array of them..
What kind of money are you willing to pay ??

How precise does it have to be? We have some high end video projectors that will throw out a grid for screen alignment.

todd, i'm not really in the finance department but i think under 5k will prob get approved for the time and material savings we'll be getting.

scott, that's the initial idea i had. just using a widescreen projector to shoot down an image. the tricky thing is, its on the factory floor so it'll be brightly ambient light conditions. we've ordered a shortthrow 720p 3000lumen projector to see if it'll work. we tried with a normal conference projector and it was....visible, but i don't think really workable. we still have to do some engineering to make it production floor ready though. that's why i was leaning laser product. still visible in bright light conditions

holy damn 400lb projector...we also need it to be short throw though. height clearance is only 5ft.

the projection surface is a 8' x 4' press platform. multiple products needs to be set on the platform at specific locations according to a preprogrammed grid. there's an exhaust ventilation hood 5' up from the surface.

most of laser products i've seen are still only single line or cross line. not many grid ones. certainly not any programmable grid ones.
