Assuming he's a "good guy" he may just be unlucky or the area he served in is a Zoo.

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. ;)

Maybe... I wonder what the departmental norm, or average is for number of civilians killed (excluding Peters' record). If he is indeed serving in a "zoo", that would be reflected in other officers having similar kills. If he is merely "unlucky", that's some pretty bad goddamn luck.

That's kind of where I'm at.

I would think seven kills would be a highly unusual number in any department, regardless of how tough the neighborhood may be. I wonder how many cops amass that kind of record in a lengthy career, much less by the time they are his age. I would be very surprised if it were more than just a few. As such, I believe Peters represents an outlier, an anomaly. A deadly one at that. Too bad only police investigate each others' shootings...

Well since the guy didn't have a gun on him, I'd say yes, yes he would take that risk.

I think he was Scottsdale PD and Scottsdale is definitely not ghetto, but there are crazy people everywhere and plenty of them have to go through there to get home. No one expects a hostage scenario in Scottsdale either, but it has happened more than once and this cop killed the hostage taker in one such case. Most of his shoots are pretty clean.

I would be curious to know how many people the average Scottsdale officer has shot and killed in a similar amount of time.

Is this guy their designated hitter, so to speak? He showed up with a rifle, after all.

It seems that we are getting to the point where it is the police against the public, rather than the serve and protect thing on the side of the car.

1st and foremost , i grew up here in snobbsdale . im a NATIVE! snobbsdale was a 1-HORSEY TOWN!

i was the paperboy for downtown snobbsdale with a 126 sundays to deliver.

its changed dramatically.

influx of illegals due to horsey people/landscapers/golf courses/restaurants.

then flat landers from back east.

the BIGGEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED HERE WAS BOB CRANE(hogan) GETTING MUR-DURRED(redrumed), when i was younger.

picture some parts as the beverly hills(with hillbillys) of the DEZERT!

picture some as "we are special,"despite the bank owning our azz and driving our snotty POS ROVERS/H2 humvees (with gooffy azz spinner wheels) up and down snobbsdale rd to be seen.

go to you tube and watch" i'm a big douche bag in the scottsdale bars!"

that should sum it all up for ya.

as a native...................its changed. people who couldnt make it elsewhere land here. 98% are NON NATIVES with very twisted/different attitudes on how life should be here.

then throw in drugs/cartels/guns/gangs........................and then it gets REALLY BIZZARO!

so yeah it aint a 1-horsey backwater town any more.

yeah my eyebrows were raised reading about this guy from scottsdale p.d. but with the influx of crime, the police prepare for the worst. and somedays.......they get it in spades.

but in this particular case i really feel a tazer would have been the answer.

popping this guy in the head with a baby in his arms, despite NOT HAVING A WEAPON IN HIS HANDS.................is a lil much for me if i were on the jury.

now, was the cop, a dedicated marksmen? was he the DM for the swat team? or just a gung ho RA RA..............that in his off time hung out at the range and blasted a gazzillion rounds weekly honing his skills on taxpayer money???

HELL ANYBODY WORTH A DAMN can shoot damn good if he practices with a unlimited ammo supply. its ALL IN HOW MUCH YOU PRACTICE! remember rob leatham (mr springfield) shoots over 90 thousand rounds a year. and hes the BEST! and gets paid for it dearly. BIG $$$$$$ salary

was this guy ex miltary? did he do any tours in combat? how was he looked upon by his superiors? his co-workers?

having that many KNOTCHES in yer pistol/rifle grip ranks ya pretty high up there historically for shooting bad guys in this state!

i would fer sure say his rifle WAS SIGHTED IN VERY WELL!
