I didn't stop posting all my information because I was afraid of anybody. It is just that I realized that you don't have to be particularly honest or well screwed together to get on the internet. I consider myself a relatively open and honest person. I have to keep relearning that everybody is not like me.

There was also a big to do on another site where a guy was selling some wheels, and posted pictures of his car. Someone on that site recognized the area and was able to find out enough about the guy to track him down and rob him.

Nice. I was ripped off by another Pelican a few years ago. I did some research, and found out that he was going through some serious financial problems, so I didn't pursue it. Since I sometimes post pictures of some of my stuff, it is no stretch to decide that having my name and address right next to a picture of my stuff might be a little too much for some of you.

Anyone who really knows me knows that I am not some goofy cream puff that you want to mess with. But how many of you really know me ? There are still some people I will publicly rip on any forum that they show up on, and I consider it a public service to ferret out the crooks. Also, I generally stick up for the under dog. That doesn't mean I am stupid, or want to push my luck, or yours either.

In real life, once I identify someone as a borderline sociopath, I will generally set them straight in some way just before I get them totally out of my life. Since I do not have that kind of control over my internet life, I simply chose to remove my address. I have considered that I could ask Wayne for a new user name as well, but I am not really all that concerned, and I feel it would be disingenuous at some level.

I like the vast majority of people on this forum, even a few people who probably think I don't. But trust me when I tell you there are people out there looking for an easy mark. Why push it ?

Dan, for a little differing perspective - I have had my location, birthday, and name on here for years. Plenty of pelicans have been to my house.

My longtime ex-girlfriend found me here, as did my crazy-ass psycho stalker (in case the former ever reads this, the latter is a completely different person and does NOT refer to you). Both of 'em already knew where I lived before they found me here, but what does it matter. I'm still standing.
