Hmm, I bought my daughter an '03 S60 for college grad. I'll have to check but I think it will need the timing belt in the next year. It's a N/A S60, will I encounter similar specialized tool requirements?
Yea, it's a "cam lock" bar that they use, and a special spring loaded pin lock for the flywheel.

It's the only timing belt tool that I have that locks the cams from the back, kind cool.

@DA good deal on getting them to throw that in, nice piece of mind on these motors.

That's why I don't own one. V70R + stick + good condition + reasonable price = hard to find.

Last two DD of mine were not made in a two pedal version.

I was very lucky when I found mine. I totaled my 850 turbo wagon, started looking and found mine 50 miles from my house. A stick was the only option for me as well.

BTW, it's a frickin' rocketship. Me likey.
Congrats. Put on a 3 inch downpipe and chip it and you will really like it........

Michael, what's a good downpipe and chip? I saw IPD's downpipe @ $895.00 (yow!!), but didn't check on chips. What kind of pricing are we talking here? It sounds like these may have to wait a bit.

Here's a shot from the dealer. I'll post some others when I get the beast on Saturday.

I said chip, but our cars are actually flash tuned. When it comes to tunes, I like IPD. There are others out there that are good as well, but i've never had any problems with anything ive purchased from IPD. Your looking at about 750.00.

For a downpipe, check out Phuzzy Motorsports. 550.00 bucks. If this was for a STI, probably could get one for a couple hundred bucks. But there isn't a big market of people upgrading Volvos.......

Another worthwhile upgrade is an intercooler. You will notice a serious decrease in power if its a hot.

Volvo ALMOSTgot these cars right, with a few mods, they can be a lot a lot better. Personally for me, one of the biggest improvements was the addition of bigger sway bars...people are always surprised by how well my car handles.( mine being a wagon, really catches the off)

Your car looks great. Very clean. Just noticed its an 04, if its an automatic, you definitely want to get it tuned. The factory torque limited the 04 and 05 cars in first and second gear. Get a tune that removes the torque limiting and you will feel a big change.

Nope, it's a 6 speed MT. An automatic trans will never darken my driveway, at least as long as I have any say in the matter. My wife feels the same way.

So as to "pics or it didn't happen thing" here are some shots I took today. Very pleased so far.

The one PO did a nice job keeping it looking good. Interior doesn't look like 93K miles. Back seat looks hardly sat in.
