biker thru my fence

So #21 thru the fence in 13 years... first motorcycle though (kinda newish Harley sport type not cruiser). 1:45am, drunk, leaving a bar and taking the back roads home.

No accident report 'cause we didn't hear it. Dude somehow got home, he doesn't know. Skid mark about 50 foot long in a straight line. Got pics of the guys buddies taking the bike out, have a pic of his tag.

Apparently his buddies told him they found his bike, and he wasn't able to keep awake. They insisted on a trip to the ER, turns out he had an internal brain bleed and would've died a few hours later.

Do I need to call and get a police report to cover my butt?

So, he crashed and could have died.

He needs louder pipes.

Wouldn't hurt to contact your friend who is a PIP attorney and get his take.

I'm not qualified to answer.

It's good you documented with pics though.

Keep us posted, please. A couple pics would be nice too.

A motor vehicle (motorcycle in this case - licensed for street) accident occurred on your property involving both property damage and injury.

YES, you need to report.

Just the facts. You have no proof he was drunk, etc., you weren't at the scene, didn't see the rider, didn't talk to the rider. Motorcycle went off the road, hit your fence, was retrieved by persons who allegedly know the rider, here's the pics. Let the police do their work.

Sorry, but if he doesn't have enough sense not to drive drunk, he should be reported.
At least try to get it on his driving record.
How long until he harms someone other than himself?

NO YOU NEED TO PAINT IT "BABY POO YELLOW" so EVERYONE SEES IT! DAY OR NIGHT!

since the scientific probability of ANOTHER HIT is very POSSIBLE.............i would also paint a TARGET with "X" for bulls-eye and corresponding 10 ring-9-ring-etc on it LIFE SIZE!

i think i would also print out a flyer showing CORRECT ROUTE to NEGOTIATE CORNER, and also paint lines with ARROWS on pavement showing CORRECT ROUTE, and a SCORE CARD denoting how many HITS IT HAS TAKEN, and hand those out to all bars within a 10 mile radius.

rubber baby buggy bumpers would probably also come in handy to negate injuries.

"21" times..........................hell i'd put a grand stand up, charge entry, and have my camera ready for the next MORON! WHAT A HOOT! LOL!

A buddy of mine that lives on the sharp corner prior to mine (and therefore that much closer to teh bar) has done this. Doesn't help. He's got all sorts of trophies hanging on his fence - headlights, mirrors, wheels, bumpers, old county signs that get knocked out, etc.

Sadly, the pics are on my daughters phone which doesn't have a data plan, etc. so getting them off will be a royal pain... but doable.

Checked with highway patrol station, no accident reported by anyone else, since it is after the fact they say I can take my time to call in since they will only come to teh scene - I can't stop by their offices to get a report copy.

Argh!

petition the county/state/city/burb for some flashing lights prior to corner, as yer sick of repairing wall.

i would also think about some armco's in yer back yard to negate furthur intrusion if they get beyond the wall due to hyper warp speeds.

or have city state county install some armco barriers in front of yer wall.

There is a property just over a mile from my house that is on the other side of a T intersection wide road after a stop sign. The road has a stop sign every mile and this stop sign is just another one. The road ends after that one stop sign. About once a year some fool flies off the road and destroys the same fence. There is usually skid marks across four lanes then off the road and a mangled fence. Fortunately it is a horse ranch and the property owner has just put up a second fence to keep the horses away from the road. I bet he has a fence company on retainer.

Some crashes manage to get into the trees!

This is an old photo that was done just before they resurfaced the north - south street.

Here's a pic of the corner from google maps... white car in bottom left corner is my 356.

And a street view pic of the corner and fence - the big yellow left arrow sign had its post broken about 12" above ground level by the harley...

Don't know how that works, but apparently, this Harley rider had pipes that were barely loud enough, because he almost didn't make it.

One of my pet peeves is Hogs with straight pipes.

So as usual, this automatically turns into a Harley bashing thread.

In my 22 years in emergency services, id say 99% of motorcycle MVA's and fatalities I've responded to have involved some idiot doing something stupid on a SPORT bike. The two incidents involving a Harley rider were clearly the fault of the inattentive motorist in a car.

This is HAMERICA, and your idea would be a nice way to get sued by all the dead motorists' families.

I'm not saying it's right.
