Anyone here related to anyone famous?

Curious.
The saying goes that you are only 5 people away from knowing someone famous.

My Dad had his lid cut by Ronald Reagan's Barber. Yea, that's a little off here but cool.

I've met hero's -real- but no connection.
Not enough connections I assume.

I was in a Budapest Castle. In the lower basement -not the dungeon- and I was told I was a relative of some , not God ; but Royalty whomever who was put horizontal position in a 15 foot wide wall.

Who are you related too, many steps away from this time that is something significant ?
Curious?

Yes, directly related. It's a pain sometimes.

One of my distant grandfathers was a bodyguard to George Washington. We still have his sword. I know plenty of famous people, but am not related to any still living.

My sister and brother are commercial actors in LA. You have probably seen them in many commercials over the years. That lady on screen smiling and playing with her baby for 1 second in the laundry detergent commercial, thats my sister. My nephew is 5, he's made almost $50k in his life. Not bad scratch for a kindergartener!

What about infamous?

If you know my last name and watch unlimited boat racing you can make the connection.

Adolf Eichmann may be a distant relative, but I haven't seen it in a family tree.
The jokes about my being a jewish money lender usually stop when people see may last name.

Don Knots is some sort of distant cousin. I inherited his charming good looks.

Abraham Lincoln. But it's a tortuous path to get from him to me. My grandmother's maiden name was Lincoln and she had all of the documentation to back up the relation.

No. My Scottish/English ancestors were all peasants or sheep.

I'm distantly related to Asa Candler - founder of Coke. He's dead - I don't know if that would count. :D

My great great great uncle is the Scottish missionary David Livingstone.

Not related to me... my best friend, who is a member here has a brother in pretty high up in the white house.

I am/was related to Jackie Bouvier Kennedy on my mothers side. Never got me anywhere.

Three according to family legend and some facts.

One internationally well known and most famous in The States though I seriously doubt the veracity of the documentation. In other words, I sincerely doubt there is any real family connection. The documents seem to go into a "and then a miracle happens" stage from about 1740 to about 1780.

One who was a famous auther, think Pulitzer Prize, but the path is not direct to me but a shoot off another branch. I think most people on this board have read something by him.

The third is a famous family, married into by another branch.

Strange as there is so very little remaining living of our family.

Now The Wife, she is directly related to some rather interesting villians of the old west and our families actually shot at each other during the insurrection of 1776.

One girl I dated in HS was directly related to the James Family (father was the grandson). The other side of her family were rather notorious for other things.

Depends on how far up, or out onto the branches of the family tree you want to venture.

Johnny Cash, the singer, was a distant cousin.

Cash's Depot, a historical location in Chesterfield County, SC, was named for the Cash family who were settled there. We are all related. The patriarch of the family, Colonel E. B. C. Cash, fought the last legal duel in SC.

If you go far enough up the tree, you find ancient Kings of Scotland.
