Yeah that's what I'm watching it on.

I'm surprised that the TV feed is more up to date than the internet feed.
Sure is a great picture in HD.

lm6y 10-14-2012 09:21 AM

Looks like the live feed server crashed.

Gooch1971 10-14-2012 10:35 AM

Manned balloon flight record is his.

LeeH 10-14-2012 10:44 AM

It would be better if Evel Knievel had done this.

trekkor 10-14-2012 10:52 AM

Getting ready to "step off"...

Buckterrier 10-14-2012 10:56 AM

Wasn't it like -51F at some time outside ? And now it's 14.1F, getting closer to the sun?!

He's going to be at 128,000 feet + changed also, WOW

widgeon13 10-14-2012 11:03 AM

He's at a float level, should stay pretty level now. Door open!

porsche4life 10-14-2012 11:04 AM

widgeon13 10-14-2012 11:05 AM

Don Plumley 10-14-2012 11:09 AM

In control!

911Freak 10-14-2012 11:10 AM

Dude came out of that high speed spin pretty well! I'm sure his large attachments helps straighten him out. Dang!

Did he go supersonic? I heard 721mph?!

Don Plumley 10-14-2012 11:11 AM

chute open!

Buckterrier 10-14-2012 11:12 AM

So the old guy still has the free fall record?? 4:30 vs. 4:19

Christien 10-14-2012 11:19 AM

Very cool to watch live!

widgeon13 10-14-2012 11:26 AM

Boys got some cojones. Very exciting to watch live. Good for him.

porsche4life 10-14-2012 11:28 AM

So any rough bets on how much $$$ was dropped on this?

ErVikingo 10-14-2012 11:33 AM

That was awesome!

Eric Hahl 10-14-2012 11:43 AM

That was really cool to see!

flatbutt 10-14-2012 01:14 PM

he stepped off of that platform like I cross the threshold of my front door!!

onewhippedpuppy 10-14-2012 01:28 PM

That was cool. Good to see that there's still some adventure left in our world.

flatbutt 10-14-2012 02:09 PM

Gogar 10-14-2012 05:44 PM

That was really great!

To be honest I was quite surprised how flustered the fellow calling commands was in the critical moments. I'm not saying I would do any better, though!

widgeon13 10-14-2012 05:47 PM

If you mean Kittinger, he's the previous record holder and is now 84 years old and knows the degree of danger involved. I was nervous just watching.

Joe Kittinger | Red Bull Stratos

9dreizig 10-14-2012 06:13 PM

It has a recovery parachute and returned to earth shortly after Baumgartner

porsche4life 10-14-2012 06:53 PM

They just posted the speed on facebook.

833 mph

Mach 1.24

M.D. Holloway 10-14-2012 07:51 PM

How hot did his suit get?

My inner thighs would be a warm and gushy 98.6 due to poo rolling down them!

BRPORSCHE 10-14-2012 07:55 PM

I want to see his chest camera footage when he was spinning. How he lived is a miracle.

porsche4life 10-14-2012 07:58 PM

No kidding... I don't think most pilots could have brought a plane out of a flat spin like that.... I thought for sure he was a gonner....

chocolatelab 10-14-2012 10:10 PM

I am sure redbull will be putting out a pretty stellar video on this.

Was it just me but when stepped off, it looked like he was shot out of a cannon.

porsche4life 10-14-2012 10:12 PM

Gravity is a *****, and the air is mighty thin up there........

Mo_Gearhead 10-15-2012 04:44 AM

Another interesting fact. The man suffers from - claustrophobia!

I would have thought, when interviewing for that job, THAT just might have been a job killer? Apparently not?

A feed I watched talked about how during training, he walked away for several weeks, apparently to reconsider and evaluate his own ability.

That was similar to watching the first step on the moon for me. Loved it!

PS - As he stood on the platform he made a statement that seemed garbled to me and I could not understand. The only part I got was at the end; "I'm coming home now." Does anyone know where we can read his entire statement?

BRPORSCHE 10-15-2012 06:04 AM

He said...you have to be very high to realize how small you are.

Watch full screen.

First-person footage from Felix Baumgartner's space jump will make your head spin

vash 10-15-2012 08:18 AM
