Any Market for Film Cameras?...

I have a Canon EOS set w/lenses & flash virtually new & in original boxes w/manuals.
Do they still make film?
Where might I sell these items?
Thanks.

I may have an interest in the lenses

Some people do still buy the cameras/bodies, but they're not worth as much

eBay

shoot print film & have it scanned to a CD - you'll get better results than most digital cameras, but have to wait

Check eBay or KEH camera to get an idea of what the gear is worth. You can sell to KEH for (a lot) less than their prices. On ebay only completed listing are meaningful.

Yes, film is still made, very much so. Used film lenses have more value if they work on the maker's digital bodies. Used film bodies have value if they are more vintage and collector ish, an EOS might not fit that bill.

I think those lenses will work on a newer digital camera, you might want to keep them.

I may be interested in the lenses. Are they EF mounts?

Yep, lenses for EOS film cameras definately will work on any EOS digital camera. I'm one of the many who still has a couple of EOS film bodies, as well as a stereo camera and an old Bolex movie camera, gathering dust.

BS. Unless the scans are done by a top pro with pro equipment it is not even close to a good digital camera of today.

At a pawn shop a film camera is more valuable than a b&w tv.

You can donate it to your local high school that has a B&W film class. The teachers like to have a few solid cameras to loan/rent to students who don't have them.

The Canon film camera itself likely has little value as an object, but can be a very good tool. They're listed all over on eBay.

My daughter is in the midst of her first year of a photography course. Strictly old school. No digital for the first two semesters, film only. Its a valuable teaching method for general photography. You have to carefully consider your framing, aperture, shutter speeds and exposure when you only have a number of shots per roll. Plus she enjoys the developing/darkroom work.

She's been shooting with my Dad's old OM2, which still works beautifully.

My daughter graduated from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan with a degree in photography. They used film for the first two years exclusivley. She started ith my old OM10, btw a great camera.

The last two years was digital. Most of the staff opinions were that film had a certain quality that does not come through digitally.

Just sayin.

I have a Nikon F2 and an F2S. I wish I could find someone to work on them for me.

My son just picked up a EOS and lens for $50 to use for B&W film. He can develop it at school (RIT) and use all the dark rooms for free, so he is just playing around with it for fun. The lens is worth more than he paid, but the seller gave him a deal as a favor.

I'd spend $99 on this DCS-520 and have some fun with your lenses. These 2.0MP cameras were $15,000 when new in 1999. 2MP with some great Canon glass? Still good enough for forum-size images.

I had my Coolpix 995 worked on at the Nikon factory repair facility in El Segundo CA a few years back. Came back like new.
Check the Nikon site to see if there's a factory repair place back in your neck of the woods.
My old FE is gathering dust.

maybe my post was unclear - shoot print film & have it scanned to a CD by the processing company (which of course is a "pro")

no CCD has the dynamic range of print film

If you are going to have film developed and put on CD, make sure to mark the box on the form or tell the person to not do any color correction.
