My family and I were eating at a restaurant tonight. I was helping my kid with his food with my head turned. At the very corner of my eye, this women bend over to pick up something off the floor. I had a quick look. A half a second maybe? Her friend caught me because they were both leaving. She (her friend) then said to me, "Did you have a good look pervert?" in front of my little kids and my wife. What a btich? I didn't say anything but smiled. I couldn't because of my kids. If you act (or react) differently because of your kid's presence, you're making a mistake. Kids learn how to be a man (or a woman) from their parents. One does not have to be vulgar in front of them, but you need to show that you have a pair.

The PERFECT comment, tempered with appropriate language, calling foul on the "pervert" term, and with an appropriate level of snarkiness - GO FOR IT!

Problem is those are kinda hard to think about on the spot. You know, balancing all those points. After the fact we always come up with brilliant solutions, don't we?

I actually walked into a concrete pillar while checking out a guy one time. In a room FULL of people. Damn near knocked myself unconscious. You did WAY, WAY better than I did...

Hell, if any women walk into a concrete pillar checking me out, I would be damn proud. But, you know, that will never happen.

Not to make a big thing out of it was the right thing to do in front of the kids. I was not quick and was not ready for her comment. Wife and I spoke about it later and agree that if she said something to her, that would have been easier because it came from a female. She would have given them a little lip. We both decided to be good parents and not get involve in these little verbal altercations over foolish people.
