These guys did a show on PBS last night and, except for the singer, blew me away. His voice just seemd off or nervous or something. The drummer and guitarist are brothers.

I've also been jamming to Mark Tremoti's new tracks. Damn, he is a great guitar player and really has his own tone. That, coming from a drummer who can't even begin to understand guitar.

Just out last week. Weird video. Mark Tremonti is a talented, but heavy, guitarist. Loved him in Alter Bridge as well.

We are certainly experiencing some great heavy rock right now. With all these guys from big groups doing side projects the tunes just keep coming out.

Not sure if HTDA is a side project for Trent Reznor. I posted their earlier track, and this is the newest. It takes a few times to catch (appreciate?) the subtleties and nuance. This is now my favorite one.

Well, right now it's his only project (which is why I didn't know how to qualify it). And don't forget Rob Sheridan, the fourth member of HTDA.

A little Trent Reznor trivia. He is from a small town south of Erie PA and went to Allegheny college for a year before leaving. His parents are involved with the "Reznor" gas heating units that I see at almost any warehouse in the area. I get a chuckle every time I see them. In my eyes, he can do no wrong. I think when you stick to your beliefs and make music they way you want to, you can be relevant for a very long time.

Another side project, Publicwurks

This from Neil Sanderson, drummer for Three Days Grace, and a couple of his friends.

A couple months ago when we saw 3DG play here (see a few pages back) Neil did a long solo with his electronic music that transitioned into a drum solo. It was darned good, but a huge departure.
