Since Eric is a huge NIN fan, (almost as much as I am) how bout a little old with the new?
NIN and Radiohead are permanently in my music sources. Other bands can come an go but I seem to always fall back on them A little classic: |

Jim, more discussion to come on P.O.D., Evans Blue, and Nonpoint......
Sunday night Hinder came to town on their short "Bare Bones Acoustic Tour" We've been friends with the guys for a while, so we catch them whenever possible They played a teenie little dive and it sold out, it was a refreshing change to see the connection with the audience on a more personal level. Austin (singer) is now in his new sobriety and it showed. He's always been pitchy live, and this time he was dead-nuts-on. Just a fantastic performance for him, in every way. He's always been good, but sober...wow. After the (early) show we went next door to the bar side of the venue and chilled for a bit while the crew broke down. Surprisingly, the guys decided to come in for a few drinks. Austin (sober) and Mark (rhythym guitarist) stayed on the bus, and Cody (drummer), Joe "Blower" (lead guitarist), and Mike (bassist) came in and bought the bar drinks. There were only a couple dozen or so people besides us, crew, and venue staff. I helped fans get their pictures taken with the guys, mostly with cellphones. They spent several minutes with each group there. Making the rounds around the small bar and buying people drinks. Pretty cool to see that nowadays. After maybe an hour we made our way to the bus, re-joining Austin and Mark, and hung out with the guys for another three hours until their bus-call departure. It's a funny progression, seeing these guys back in their single days and now they're married/LTR. Although still a Party with a capital P, the guys have matured and it's a much more relaxed atmosphere. We really had a great time and always appreciate their hospitality. I'm very thankful for our friendship. Their new album "Welcome to the Freak Show" comes out December 4th. Buy it! Hinder live - YouTube Skip to 2:40 for interview, 4:35 for new song "Should've Known Better" and 9:45 for new song "Save Me"....make sure you select 720HD. Recorded the day before we saw them. Not the best, but whatev.... This was more like the night.....

Aranda
These guys opened for Hinder. They're also from Oklahoma. I had never seen them live, but they opened for Theory of a Deadman here a couple months ago. My GF was invited and she went to see the show. She came home talking about these guys and liked them almost as much as Theory. We were really impressed by their set! They're normally a four piece, but one of them couldn't make it on the tour so they improvised as a three piece. Their vocals and harmonization are really solid, and their guitar is also fantastic considering they're singing as well. They played a mash-up of Michael Jackson tunes that blew the crowd away. Just a really fun band. We got a chance to talk to them for a while backstage and let them know how much we loved their show. We didn't see them again after Hinder played, they disappeared ?? They were just signed a couple months ago, so you might be hearing more of them soon..... Here's an acoustic version of their song "Satisfied" from the same radio interview as Hinder (above), song starts at 2:58 Michael Jackson mash-up from our show here in Mpls Video for "Whyyawannabringmedown" "Undone"

Aranda's been around awhile...and has had a rough go to get signed. I don't know the whole history; I think they are awesome musicians and the brothers could give lessons to Chad Kroger and his brother about singing
![]() Here's a nice cover w/ everyone's favorite girl!

Static-X and Wayne Static
This just went through my rotation. I really like the entire album, "Wisconsin Death Trip" We saw them (as Static-X) a month or so ago when they played a small local dive with other friends, 9Electric and Ill Nino (more on both). It was a great show, and we hung out with the bands into the wee hours. Wayne's wife Tera Wray (briefly on stage start of video) is a pornstar, a spitfire, and maybe a little crazy, but she's fun. This video is of my favorite Static lineup: Wayne, Ashes (guitar), Brent Ashley (bass), and Sean Davidson (drums). Brent has since left the lineup to focus on his main project, The Natural Born Killers (more later). Brent is a super nice guy and he and Ashes make clothing for several other bands. This song "Love Dump" is about doing lines of coke and having third-entry sex. "I can't believe I'm letting you do this to me......" **NSFW** language only ![]() ![]()

Burnin' Oil,
I don't always listen to screamo But when I do, I prefer Viking death metal..... Amon Amarth "Pursuit of Vikings" These guys are the real Viking deal, and sell out huge stadium venues in Europe
