picture in picture video edit software

i am looking for a video software program suggestion that will do picture in picture. i have a early and late generation gopro cameras so it will need to recognize both formats. ive used windows movie maker to varied success, downloaded an add on to MM that is not working. anybody have something they are using?

Hi Tia,
Almost all editing software today will do "picture in picture". All you're doing is resizing one of the images and placing it into a corner if the master image.

Are you running a Mac or a PC? Knowing that will give me a better idea of what software to recommend. If you are looking for the ultimate in flexibility using top notch products, I'd point you to the Adobe "Creative Cloud". While a bit steep on the learning curve, Sony Vegas is very powerfull.

I use it for all my GoPro Editing.


you should YouTube Sony Vegas for examples, lots of tutorials out there so you can see / get a feel for it.
