The plot thickens, a little. I just got off the phone with a buddy, when I told him about the FP, he said, "it might not have been FP!"

Apparently, there is a particularly nasty stomach flu going around. He had it last week, symptoms the same and it had mostly passed in 12 hours, other than recovery of strength. Mine sure felt exactly like FP, puking lasted less than 12 hours and now I'm just sleeping all day. I have a nasty bathroom clean-up to do when I'm feeling a little stronger.

Vietnam 1970.
I was a friend of some South Vietnamese soldiers.
They snuck me off the base. We hit the town. Nha Trang.
I ordered something. Ate it. Good times.
They took me back and I started getting real woozy and weak.
Passed out. Woke up and had no idea how long I was prone.

We had a "sick bay" which was a couple corpsmen and I somehow managed to
get over to the hootch.
I don't remember getting anything for it but I have never been that "out of it", weak and disoriented in my life.

Something I ate for sure.

Norovirus is making the rounds.

Yep I think it was a stomach flu/noro virus that went through my family last month. It was spread out over two weeks so no common FP source. It was the worst I can remember with 12 hrs of spewing from both ends. The next day I was totally a wreck, totally dehydrated and felt like I had cholera. Slowly drinking 42 oz of water and fruit juice didn't even dent my dehydration so off to the hospital I went. They said I was two liters low and after a little IV treatment I felt much better.

What a nasty little bug she was!

Stick camping off the Grey Creek Pass in BC and I had cooked up some sausage that I had frozen in the cooler. Either they were under cooked or bad before I froze them for the trip.
I was in such bad shape that I had to drive out to get Gatorade and Pepto. Nasty to be that sick in the sticks and the little pond was pretty cold to be washing off in.....
Another time beach camping on the Baja. At least I had the porta potti in the camper that time. Filled the 5 gallon black water tank in one evening with....black water....
Took forever to get over that one. Had to starve it out of me and must have lost 15 lbs or more.

How did you know that you were still dehydrated after drinking the water? I'm a little worried, haven't been able to get much down.

I hadn't peed for about 15 hrs and started to feel like things were shutting down. Never been there before so off to the ER I went. I HATE hospitals but got so behind on fluids I'm not sure I could catch up.

If you need to rehydrate, there's Pedialyte. Get on with it and get a bottle in ya.

no issues. my butthole would have fallen off.

She and I are apparently related. Food carts, Mexican vendors, street food in Thailand. No problemo. :D

Kicking someone when they're down rates a dick label in my book.

i've often wondered if nurses could take IV bags home to hydrate loving, sick husbands?

Oh man, my whole family went through that about 9 months ago. The "barfing flu", as we affectionately refer to it. :(

Daughter (3 yrs old) was projectile vomiting for 2 days. Typically without any warning whatsoever. That couch is gone now... ...Nothing says "parental love" like interrupting your shower to wash the vomit out of your kid's hair. Twice. Son (6) was puking for about a day then settled down for a cartoon marathon.

Strangely, my wife and I never got quite sick enough to vomit, though there were times I wish I had. Green to the gills, cold sweats, the works...I finally found solace in a blister pack of Bonine.

Hope you feel better. Just think of the awesome ab workout you got! :D

About 14 years ago I made the mistake of buying a cold chicken sandwich from a "lunch truck"... I became sick about 4 hours after and I was sick for days.
When I got home I threw up so hard and often that my eyes became severely blood shot. That is the whites were completely RED... :(

I'll never forget it. It took about 8 weeks for my eyes to clear up.

My mom is getting over something similar to what you mentioned, and her and my dad ate the same things all day... Not really sure its FP.....
