Anyone looking for a nice Carrera?
The price might be a little steep, but not really far off if the car checks out. It would of course have to be perfect and need nothing at this price level. No affiliation, just saw it on CL:

Dang...a little?
![]() I figured they would have gone down significantly due to the economy. Or is this guy just nuts?

All air-cooled 911s have gone UP significantly since 2007. Carreras a lot less than early cars, but still UP. His price is not far off at all, if it's perfect.
If someone is looking for a one-owner, black/black coupe w/ 58k miles and zero paintwork/rust or modifications with books and records, it's definitely a seller's market.

That car would easily sell for $45K in Europe. Possibly more.

I believe it. How many are around like it? This bares no resemblance to your average 1984 Carrera in condition. Pricing is not at all linear for older cars in exceptional condition, compared to average cars. Actually, this pricing is fairly linear, however.

Too bad he doesn't have higher quality photos, it appears to be very nice. Makes me optimistic as to the value of my '88 Targa with 54k.

I don't think the price is all that steep - maybe a hair, but not much. An aquaintance here in town just sold an 87 with 98K for 26,000 and he did a rather poor job marketing the car. Yes, his 87 was a G50 car, and it was just as this craigslist car, a no stories vehicle, one owner, all records, etc. Very, very nice clean car. But now where near as low miles as this craiglist car.
The SC and Carreras are definately appreciating. angela

The only negative. What does another perfect set of 7/8s go for these days? That would have to figure into the price.
